I met my serious boyfriend through a dating app. There are many success stories, it’s just mostly a numbers game so you will have to weed through the d bags. From my experience, treat it like an experiment - test what works vs what doesn’t work, don’t talk to a guy for very long before you meet - it only builds up expectations, and definitely try to go on more second and third dates. There’s this notion that you should “know” after one date but that’s so unrealistic.

Be upfront, honest, and clear about what what you are looking for - don’t waste time on people who aren’t looking for the same thing.

Depends on what you mean by success: hook-up, serious relationship, fbuddy, friendship 🤷🏻‍♀️. I’ve had all of those.

I met my husband on Ok Cupid (pre-tinder). I found it helpful to screen profiles to make sure the guy was also looking for something serious, transition quickly into an in person meeting, and go for coffee/drinks so I could easily escape after 1-2 drinks if I wasn’t interested. I think it’s important to be picky, we put our best foot forward on the sites. If you’re not sure if you find the person attractive/interesting, it’s most likely not going to improve in person

Serious relationship!

Don’t be afraid to ask those hard questions.

I have had mixed results (nothing LT but several 4-5 month things.). Be upfront about travel, if that’s a big part of the job If they can’t handle it, better to know right away. I have no other words of wisdom as i am still trying to figure out the secret sauce (NYC based)

Tips for 1st (and 2nd, 3rd) date ideas? Is getting drinks really the way to go

@OP, you could go to a museum, go paint while you drink (doesn’t matter if you have zero artistic skills), volunteering, lunch

I met my boyfriend on Tinder about two years ago. At the time, I lived somewhere where there were no nearby restaurants to go to at night and the grocery store was not on the way home. I used Tinder to have someone to dine with and to make sure I ate dinner. Our first date was at an outdoor pop-up bar in the city. The dates from there involved dinner. Because guys feel like they get "scammed" during first dates with dating apps, the "first date" is usually a low-cost meeting that serves as a litmus test to make sure the two of you are connecting before going on an actual first date. I feel like that helps keep the pressure off. I've had $50+ dinners where the guys were just very unimpressive beyond their ability to pay for an expensive meal.

Did anyone else adopt the new Florida Wonders curriculum? We just adopted it this school year, and I teach 4th grade. My team and I have not found a good flow, schedule, or whatever you want to call it. We feel like it teaches too many skills in one lesson, and we are not able to truly teach anything “deep” enough for students to master. Does anyone have any insight? What do you do? Do you like the curriculum? Why or why not? Would you be willing to share what you do weekly/daily? Thanks!

Yesterday was a good day. I was really impressed with myself. I woke up at 5, practiced dance lessons, did two water colors, made breakfast and tea, got to work by 10, put in 8-10 hours of solid work and then came home. It’s been ages since I painted or danced. However today, I slept till 7:00, did not work out or have food. Still got to work by 10 and did 8 solid hours of work. Some days are good and some are just okay. And that is okay. Trying to build on my good days and we all can. :)

I feel like one of the students with my attention off the lesson (in my case, it is all the grading and feedback I need to complete!) and my attention being pulled to this app and many others🤣 I'm even writing this while I know I shouldn't be...then I'll check for comments...😅
