Total 6+ YOE:
1st Job - 90k…. Is this a good salary? Late to the game at 34. Don’t even know anything about personal finance. Basically feeling like an 18 year old over here with no knowledge of how to run my own life. Having to start over after long term controlling relationship where I was left out of all the finance stuff. So I’m lost TBH. Engineering makes sense, managing my money not so much.
For those who have exited or are thinking about an exit, what was/is the non-lawyer salary floor you're willing to accept? I acknowledge everyone's personal situation and financial needs are different. Just trying to pick folks' brains.

I started a job in August and I was as told I get a salary review at the year end. I know I’m being underpaid and I want to ask for a raise. I’m a new attorney and my salary is $65k. I want $80k but is that too high of a jump??
Does anyone recommend working in high pressure better salary(WFH IC Engineer role in a relatively big Financial services firm, but working hands of on many things that builds pressure) vs
job 2 or atleast offer (Senior Manager 3 days a months in office( Banking firm) minimum, people manager for 24/7 infra operations teams and new project)taking a salary cut of 8k in base and with better WLb( hr) says so in interview. I am too confused. On job security we all know we can't guarantee anything.

I am trying to figure out following things
Education : I have 2 kids (5y & 1y) , International Primary School comparison
Value:Is the Indian salary of 75L good for 15 yoe ?
Financial :I believe tax is a major pocket holes in India , as is rent in SG, but although rents are high in SG , it compensates with the tax in India for only 1 person ,couple pays twice
Has anyone recently gone back into banking? I am thinking about going back because of the increase in comp and opportunity to work at a top BB. I was a boutique ib analyst for 2 yrs and currently a LMM PE firm 1st year associate.
Curious: are there more lowball offers during the pandemic season or is compensation levels relatively stable?

First time, pay rate for CMA
Our firm is establishing our target billable %'s at a small public accounting firm. Is there a website that gives target billable time % by staff level for the tax and accounting industry? Just started poking around the AICPA website, but would appreciate being able to save some time looking for it. I'm used to a lower % rate than what's being proposed (70% vs 85%) and don't want to cause undue pressure on staff, but do want to give a reasonable billable hours expectation going forward.

I have 3+ YOE in consulting and looking to transition to PM in the next 6 months. Guess it's enough time to wait out the economic situation and also prepare myself in terms of the knowledge/skills required. Does it make sense to join a startup to make the jump?
Apart from the attributes and skills required, what are the absolute basics I should add to my stack? So far I've identified Google Analytics, JIRA, wireframing tools like Balsamiq, agile. Please add on to these if you know.

What’s the oddest way you’ve heard of someone totaling their car (curious about non-auto accidents). A friend once told me his parents Acura got totaled by lightning strike in their driveway. The internal circuits/ECU was fried. No physical damage.
Hi all! I got rejected from JPMorgan for their Global Finance and Business Management program (through my resume, couldn’t make it to interview). However, I’d reached out to recruiters and am meeting with one in a couple of days! Do I have a shot at turning this around? Or will it not matter once she learns I was rejected. Thanks!
How do you cope with loss and grief? My father in law lost his battle with cancer this morning. It was sudden and unexpected. We lost my husband’s grandfather about a month ago, again to cancer, and he declined rapidly so that was somewhat unexpected, as well. My poor mother in law has been dealing with helping her husband through his cancer and dealing with the loss of her father. Any tips for how to help her and my husband through this?

Can anyone who’s a financial reporting manager or accounting manager in industry briefly explain what your actual day to day looks like? I’ve always written those off because I don’t want to spend all day every day doing close and posting journal entries but I realize there’s probably more to these roles than that and that maybe I should open my mind a bit when it comes to my job search. Worried about being bored but also looking for better quality of life. Thanks in advance!
