Total income 240k (before tax)
married couple age 32
Total monthly exp including mortgage =4,300
disposable income=9,300.
Pension account contribution (etf) = 4,000. Stock = 1,000.
Cash savings. =4,300
Joint Net asset = 810K (real estate 580K)

Thinking of buying investment property vs increase stock investment. What do you think? I prefer real estate investment but seems like now isn’t good timing to buy investment property.

I think you should consider life insurance as an investment along with real estate. You will protect each other in case something happens and the other is saddled with mortgage payments or expenses without the income. It is also a long term savings vehicle that provides very stable and reliable returns if done with the right company.

funny

Read up on real estate bowl. RE is not super hands off but if looking to retire early RE could be a good long term play providing cash flow before tapping into traditional retirement vehicles. However, if retiring early health insurance is going to be expensive.

Mega backdoor Roth if possible. Otherwise brokerage for flexibility and growth. Can always pull money out if see a good RE investment opportunity

Anyone here retire in late 30s or know someone that has?

Hello all!

I’m a MSN, RN with 7 years of critical care nursing experience (ICU/PACU). Prior to becoming a nurse, I was a Medical Service Corps officer in the US Army for 8 years. I have my BSN/MSN and a non-nursing MA.
I’m interested in shifting gears to healthcare consulting. I’ve heard great things about Chartis and would love to hear more, specifically with regards to nurses making the jump. Can anyone offer insight or any other consulting firm they recommend?
Thank you in advance!

Anyone have any tips for the B2B space and who I should prospect? They didn't give many pointers lol.

I moved back in with my parents in August, and my mom and stepfather have demanded monthly rent. They are in no way poor at this moment in time, and in my opinion it’s f*cked up to demand your child pay rent. I bought a VR headset a couple weeks back and my mom increased the rent because “I can afford it.” Is this normal? I honestly feel used. Fwiw I’ve worked since I was 13, and hustled my entire life.

All my six-figure salary consultant friends are ranting about how poor they feel right now because their IRAs/portfolios are down. Think the people in this industry need to take time to volunteer or engage with some tougher parts of town and understand that by virtue of even having investment accounts, that they’re more financially safe than at least 50% of America. Sad to see

I’ve seen a couple posts lately with comments saying that people should not use a Roth 401k. Does the logic below capture the spirit of that concept?
1. Use trad. 401k to reduce taxable income now. Convert to trad. IRA once retired, then convert gradually to Roth IRA (ladder, SEPP, etc.) at lowest marginal tax rate
2. Use Roth IRA (and/or backdoor Roth) to take advantage of tax free growth and ability to withdraw principal early without penalty
