Tradition - Peer pressure from dead people!

Not really. Most tradition actually reflects values and belief of what contributes to a well ordered society. Values can change and people can want different things from generation to generations but tradition isn’t really some throw away thing. Fredrick Hyek wrote about the fence in the pasture problem. Someone was walking in a pasture and can across a fence. They were upset because it was in their way and served no obvious purpose for them. So they knocked it down. Of course the fence was there to mark the boundaries of a land owners property, to keep sheep and cattle from wandering off, and to offer protection to those with in it. Something to think about.

Had my virtual on-site for an S&O L3 role 3.5 weeks ago (NYC, 5 YOE). I haven’t heard back on a decision yet, and was wondering how long it typically takes? I also know that I was one of the very first candidates to interview for this specific role, and there are atleast 2 more people scheduled for onsites. Does the recruiter typically wait for all candidates to finish their onsites before communicating a decision? Or if I haven’t heard back yet, it’s probably a reject?

Had a very early call with the client and foreign lawyers this morning. One of the other country lawyers couldn’t use my telecon number, so I had to set up an impromptu Zoom meeting. In pajamas, no makeup. Firm’s Zoom has no option for the organizer to start the meeting with their camera off for some reason. Client and other lawyers are all female, and they all turned their cameras on in solidarity. I love the supportive women I have the pleasure to work with. Any other Zoom WFH war stories?
