6th year CRE associate at a fairly large firm (400+) thinking about leaving the firm when/if things ever get back to somewhat normal. I've done mostly acquisitions and leasing work. What are the best paths for a CRE associate law exit? Where would you suggest I focus my efforts?

Teaching has taken over so much. I’m a wife and mother and still have a home life, but there is nothing outside of work and home. I have no friends, no other activities, no escape. Covid restrictions do not help. I know it’s not healthy to only focus on everyone else, but I’m not sure what to do about it. I have only sporadic time opportunities and I don’t even know what I enjoy doing anymore. When trying to do other stuff I can’t turn off mom or teacher brain.

Does anyone else who is working from home just feel like they’re perpetually in school? I used to try to keep a normal schedule and wear work clothes but now I just roll out of bed when I feel like it and work into the night.

On days when your billables are less than 7, does anyone else just write “no billable assignments” for entries or should I be creative with these ? A part of me feels like they may appreciate the honesty/ don’t care about non billables anyway

Someone needs to explain to me why I need to urgently (like yesterday) explain a matter to the people running the specific part of the deal (noting to them that OC’s request is nonsense because Y) only to be copied two days later - “my colleague X will provide”.

Does anyone else find it ridiculous that firms require a minimum daily time entry? For example, my firm requires us to bill 6 hours a day, whether or not it’s billable work, we have to have a minimum of 6.0 in our time entry system every day or we get flagged. If we’re on vacation we have to pre-bill 6.0 a day. Why the hell do firms do this???

I've always been very technical, so I think that the only thing I am missing now is making sales. (I really wanna make partner)
