If you’re going to pick whole life regardless then pick northwestern. But I agree with others and buy term and invest the difference. I have a whole life policy too and it’s been forced savings, but if I had the discipline to buy term and invest the difference then I would have more money.

If the terms are all the same, go with the cheapest

Second that…do NOT buy whole life. You are throwing away money. Life insurance is not an “investment” in the way some tik tokers suggest. It’s purely to help the people who rely on you and nothing else. Take the difference you save from getting term and invest in the sock market

Serious question- if you plan on having a legacy of +5m-10m , what’s wrong with also having whole life insurance if you plan on exclusively using it as a legacy planning tool

Pwc1 - do you think you could grow a brokerage account or a real estate portfolio with the annual premiums you pay in whole life insurance to $5MM-$10MM?

Thoughts on Indexed Universal Life Insurance as an investment vehicle? I hear the pros and cons from the sellers of this, whom I understand gain heavy commissions. But wanted to get thoughts from investors and if this isn't a good vehicle, what alternative investment vehicles do you suggest (outside of stocks, Roth, 401k, and real estate)? Looking to diversify my portfolio.

I'm 43, married, income 600k combined, and we have 2 properties worth 3m and investment accounts worth ~2-3m.

Thanks!

The pressures of his peers and biglaw are eating him up however - he’s getting good grades and feels like he is "supposed" to want to go into biglaw. I kind of feel for him, but don’t know what to tell him to cheer him up.
