Had my first recruiter call today. When they asked me about my comp expectations, I asked them to tell me their range first and they said that they couldn’t disclose it as it was confidential. However, if I told them my range, they could tell me if they could match it or not. Is this standard practice? I didn’t want to disclose my range first but they didn’t leave me with a choice.
