Dear Hotel Room Previous Guest, while I appreciate your desire to wake at 5 am, I do not appreciate you setting the room's bedside alarm to support that goal (cont'd)...
Business traveler here. I stay at Marriott/SPG hotels. I can’t bill flights so I charge hotels, taxis and food each week. Which is better Amex SPG or Chase Sapphire Preferred for building points?
In a dilemma, have a Booz Allen Hamilton offer for an Travel System Analyst job for 75k and 5k sign on in DC. However, the job it’s self isn’t my go to option but it’s a good in for Booz. On the other hand I have another offer to be an SAP financial consultant for the Army but it will be with a very small firm. Both pay the same, better job or better company with tons of avenues.... any opinions please :( I have to make a decisions soon!
Question: first time flying American Airlines...is carry on the same size as Delta flights and a book bag a personal item?
Does anyone know when the SPG Marriott finalization will be complete? I merged my accounts, but right now you need to earn platinum by meeting either or, not by combined nights for the overall program. Thanks
Do airlines pay fines for flight delays unrelated to weather? If not, that would probably solve the issue. Thoughts?
Hello, I am on notice period and last 10 days are left.I have offer with 60% hike with one MNC but today only I received mail that my name is selected in H1B lottery system which was applied in march 2021. About to start traveling A LOT. Do people recommend southwest or United? Flying out of Chicago and equidistant to midway and ORD.
When I book award travel in United, can I book the lowest fare ticket and use status to change to the flight I want on same day without using extra miles?
Travel recommendations for places that are great to go to in January? That seems to be the soonest I can maybe take a break….
Bonvoy brilliant or business ink preferred? I like the flexibility of UR but seems like I would rack up Marriott points quicker with the bonus category
Looking for a good spot to vacation. I’m based on the West Coast and don’t want to go far because I already travel every week. Recommendations? Relaxing & good weather are the priorities...
Does united let people pay for global services? Thinking of ways to use my first year's savings.
How does everyone bill for travel? Example - flying out Monday for a depo on Tues Wed, flying back Thursday. My gut has always been to bill for working hours time on the flying days and hearing days, but is that what everyone does? Can I bill 8 hours (or more) for a full travel day even if I’m not working every minute (but I’m also not not-working)? Nobody at my firm talks about this and at this point I’m too embarrassed to ask.
Thought the travel grind would resume this month for me and just learned that I have atleast 3 more months without it. This makes me happy and also sad.
Would u have considered this during college? WHY/WHY NOT. "$25k immediate cash (for student loan, new car, travel, anything) in exchange for 5% of your pre-tax income for first 5yrs out of school."
Accenture 🐠, can you help explain the different roles and their typical seniority levels? - Client Account Lead - Client Group Lead - Market Unit Lead - Senior Client Executive I would expect a CAL manages an account relationship and report into a MUL, but I see there are a few aligned to geographies. Just trying to understand the organisation structure better. Thanks.
How can I pick up commercial contract negotiation/redlining skills? Work in biglaw doing privacy/regulatory with a fair amount of litigation (hate litigation). 5+ YOE. I want to move in house but a lot of employers (mostly tech startups in the Bay Area) that are hiring for purportedly generalist roles are actually looking for commercial transactional experience as a primary focus and I’ve lost out after second rounds multiple times once my non transactional experience becomes clearer to them.
Big 4. Last year was a promotion year for me, and I killed it. Got the promo, the highest performance rating, a 15% raise, and a 20% bonus.
Need advice 🐟 fam- I'm in an extended PMO role that doesn't require any brains. I have great work life balance but a lot of free time. Advice on how should I develop professionally? Certifications?
Last stage interview went very well. The interviewer said they want to move me to next stage for offer and said recruiter will get in touch with me. In an awkward response as a last statement before hanging up, I just said “we will be in touch soon”. How screw am I?
Apparently rumor is PwC isn't hiring and was told to utilize staff in different service lines to staff engagements since there are so many on the bench...
Can anyone recommend a psychiatrist? Been in a funk for some time and I’m getting sick of it...although I’m sure it’s work related...
A friend of mine interviewed at Expedia for a TPM role. The interviews went fairly well but haven't heard back from the recruiters. It's been over a week since the final interview. Did the follow up with recruiter over email but no response. What next? Is it safe to assume that it's a No?
Asking for personal finance help. I’m contributing about $7.5k/year to my 401k based on my budget/spending. About to get lump sum of cash (sold car, tax returns, stimulus). Was thinking of just putting a little aside in cash for rainy day and invest the rest in brokerage acct., but would it make more sense to max out my 401k for tax purposes and use the lump sum as spending $ until it runs out? Currently 27 yr old, 73k salary in NYC, no debt, $10k in EM fund, maxed out Roth IRA for 2021. TIA
I am currently outside the US on PTO, is it legally possible to work remotely on H1B for about a month to spend time with family?
H fishes Currently working as Analyst with Deloitte-I in visualization competency with fixed pay 6.7 LPA and expected to get a promotion next year. I received a offer from Bain capability network to join their visualization team with fixed pay of8 LPA as an Analyst only. For that I will also have to pay back my joining bonus of 1.5 LPA to DI and I wont be able to avail my performance bonus of FY 20-21 i.e. 50k i.e. leaving DI will cost me 2LPA and a promotion next year . Shall I join BCN?
Noob question: how can I know my tax rate when i retire and start withdrawing money from 401k?
I’ve been fully vaccinated since early this year (Pfizer), and tested positive for Covid-19 three days ago. I’m laid up in bed feeling terrible and quarantined so that my wife (who tested negative) and two kids don’t catch it from me. Remember: be safe. Don’t relax yet. The vaccines are wonderful, but we can still get it and pass it on.
Given all the recent buzz about expected large raises around the big 4, I’d like to level set on the average salary for a 4th/5th year female senior manager in federal tax ( credits & methods group) in the Midwest - Chicago/Minneapolis/Detroit market. Anyone willing to share a range if they work in a similar area of tax / similar level? I recognize all groups vary greatly in salary expectations, so looking for input specific to my area. Current expectations set at 140-160k. Reasonable?
Any advice for Tuck interview tomorrow?
All my MBB 🐠, is there anyone who would be willing to chat with me about your role and experience, the company culture and work and potentially work with me to see if I am a good fit and also if you would be willing to refer me? I am currently a Senior Consultant at EY.
