Don’t forget to send pics of your outfits back to the team so they can live vicariously through you!! 😏

More seriously, learn a few words like greetings and use them before asking if they speak English. Be very polite when entering stores especially small mom and pop ones - greet the owner nicely will get you more service. Learn the metro system and you can get anywhere easily. Street baguettes for lunch are fantastic and cheap. Eat duck and lamb...lots of it! Never smile at someone on the metro unless you want to sleep with them (heard about this from a friend - especially if you are female...people on metros make lots of eye contact but never smile). Hmm...that's some of my favorites I remember. Oh yeah, the Louvre is overrated...musee d'orsay is the best (I love impressionism). Bon voyage!

Ok, have you done musee marmottan? At one point it was the largest collection of money paintings and might still be.

Took my kid for 24 hours on an extended layover and here's what all we did: Evening Seine boat tour Louvre (Musee d'Orsay is amazing but the kid got to pick) Luxembourg Gardens (but so many are lovely, pick one) Catacombs Eiffel Tower at dusk Notre Dame (pre fire, obviously) We rented bikes through the Velib system which was super easy We ate all the food and I drank all the wine. I bought every macaron I saw and each was the best I've tried.

Only speak French you learn from songs. Start every conversation with Vou Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir. Extra credit if you sing it like Christina.

Just came back last night from a 4 day trip. If you want to go the big museums (Lourve, Versailles..etc.) buy your tix in advance, get the 9AM time slot, allowed me to see all the major pieces by 12. Believe it or not, didn’t have a line to see you the Mona Lisa. Go to Monmarte…prob my fav part of the trip after 2-3PM, a bit of a journey uphill though. Walk as much as possible, wife and I saw so much that we would have missed so in turn, wear comfy shoes. DONT PLAY THE STREET GAMES…big scams Don’t have the highest expectations for meals, rather indulge in the pastries and get them along the way wherever you walk. Stayed by the Opera and it was very central. If possible, try to go to a PSG game, energy is unreal. Enjoy and dress warm. 🇫🇷

Only speak English. Don’t insult the French by faking that you’re interested in their culture.

Not true, some will appreciate you trying to speak the language

(1/2) I started a new job less than a month ago at a large firm with a significant pay increase. I work remotely- which is a special arrangement. They paid for my travel to their headquarters for in-person training. After interacting with my manager and some of the attorneys, I feel like I made a mistake. Manager is demeaning and rude. A bunch of the attorneys dropped not so subtle hints that people who work from home are causing all kinds of problems. I don’t know what to do.

Hello, I am 36 and have over 250k in savings. I started saving late (at 32) as I didn’t make much and lived in NYC. I used to be on a visa and had little to say on my salary negotiations. Upon getting my green card, my salary doubled when I changed jobs and I started saving extensively. Today I make around 180k a year and am able to save $4.5k a month and 7% towards 401k. I have no kids and I am looking to maximize savings. Any advice? Thanks!
