We’ve done both. I’m torn on my advice — for your first visit I’d say stay on property. But your daughter is really young. So I’d probably say stay offsite now because she’s too little to know any better. And save on property for when she’s older.
As an FYI, if you happen to have status/ points for Marriott hotels- the Swan and Dolphin hotels are the best of both worlds- can book and pay with points, AND they are considered Disney properties so they have character breakfasts, the Disney bus, etc. That’s where we always stayed because of that and the kids loved it. It’s been a few year though- they grow up so fast 😉
Yes 10000000 times. The experience is worth it. You can book the lower end or mid tier resorts for cheaper if cost is a concern but it is worth it. I go annually with my family since childhood. We stayed off property once…. Then. We bought the DVC bc we said NEVER AGAIN!
I’d probably do the 150 hotels just because your daughter is young. I remember being at Disney when I was 3 but not our hotel AT ALL. Save that money for a future vacation to Disney!
Stay off property - I was that two year old and didn’t remember anything 😂 save the Disney property for when she’s a bit older!
I’m from Florida and went to Disney a lot. As a kid I honestly liked the Disney hotels more than the parks. I thought they were awesome. Fun themes and restaurants. Especially Boardwalk - just the coolest.
Thanks. So what exactly is better about the Disney hotels and which would you recommend for us?
