Hi! I'm one of the 2 women on the engineering team of the tech scale-up I work at. I'm used to the masculine environment but I'm starting to notice more and more borderline sexist comments and "jokes" (the kind that are not directly targeted at anyone, but very salacious jokes).

How are non-market (comp) Amlaw100-200 firms going to survive the associate salary hikes? I’m at an Amlaw100+ firm and our comp is about 25% under the new market for junior/midlevel and up to 40% under for seniors. We have tons of work and NO associates left to do it. Is anyone else out there really struggling with typos, section references, or things like that? I’m doing everything one is supposed to do (print out, read loud, triple checking, etc.) but still can’t get everything right. Notice question. Can a partner ask you to defer leaving till a particular deal is closed etc, beyond your 2 weeks notice? Even if they can how badly will you burn bridges or ruin relationships by politely declining?

Mid 2020, I turned down an opportunity to jump ship from my small law firm to a big law firm. At the time I had 4 years of practice under my belt with managerial experience. I thought the offer was reasonable, come in at a 2nd year level, but with the uncertainty of the times I played it safe. Now I regret it. What avenues do I have, if any, to jump into big law from a small firm?

For those in the US market, what are your thoughts on King & Spalding vs. Morgan Lewis. I am not in the US now but would be looking to return to the States eventually (probably in 2 to 4 years) so want to know what people in the US think of each in terms of future opportunities that lateraling to K&S or ML would provide.
