Here is an idea - everyone has different preferences in life. Whoa isn't that neat?
No not really. My wife makes more than I do at her firm, and I love it. I just think we should avoid generalizations.
^spoken like someone who's threatened by career-driven women
Work and how I feel about my partner are not intertwined. More focused on interests and substance when we are together given long term that's what matters most.
@OP, @ass1 - you're a banker, maybe highly educated, certainly you have access to the upper tiers of civilizational knowledge. Hopefully you're a critical thinker. Why do you care what "normal" is? Do your thing. Allow those worthy of you to recognize it, ignore the assholes.
I should be asleep, sorry for the delivery, it was supposed to be... encouraging.
And yea yea, societal good, I hope the world changes too blah blah idealism...
I get what you're saying though OP. There is a sexist/gender normative idea that men should be the "strong" ones and make more money. I hope this fades with time.
I'd love to meet a girl who makes more than me and likes me. But, I haven't found many women who I've dated or even amongst my female friends that make more than their SO's. My personal opinion is that a career driven woman tends to attract an even more career driven man and the woman prefers the higher earner to the lower earner. May have nothing to do with the earning potential, but seems that way
False. Love it when a high powered gal gets on her knees and blows me.
Analyst1- that is one part of the equation. However, that factor is behavioral and evident in any professional industry. There are other fascinating socio-historical factors which support OPs statement (women in finance).....
Fair
Girls in finance tend to be more aggressive and less girly girls. Some guys prefer the ...I wanna say almost bimbo attractive types .. In these lower skilled professions
^ Hey VP1, only thing more common than MDs is VPs. Or mice. Go fuck yourself.
It's true....I'll spare y'all the thesis paper on this topic 😂
I agree with the first Associate 1.. he means this answer really isn't a yes or no question to the masses...every man is different and would answer differently. I personally don't care as long as they're passionate about what they do and as long as it's a professional job and they're not boring. Then again I'd like a high earner too so we can ball out on an apartment and Dates
Maybe weak men
^Already did, big boy.
Mice get shit done. So get off your high horse and at least try to make yourself useful. And while you are at it, GFY too
^that power struggle tho... love it
Most alphas wether the be female or male, like to show dominance. Rarely do two alphas have a successful partnership. Alpha =/= $$ btw but has a casual relationship.
I prefer women that are passionate about their job - what their job is matters much less
^keep fantasizing, big boy. There's a dime a dozen MDs. You aren't that special. Next.
