Commission plan discussion:
I was promoted to Director of Sales and am tasked with revamping our sales commission plans

We are in a high margin industry, the majority of the team’s sales are transactional, so they are quick closes, and they have a base around 60k

Current plan is: 3, 5, 6, and 8% of revenue depending on different factors

I am thinking of streamlining to make everything 10%. (5% paid upfront when they land the sale, 5% paid once invoiced).

Thoughts? Things to consider?

Best book for beginner case prep?

My current job where I'm a Business int. Analyst at a startup, my total salary is $62k (started at 57k & got a 5k bonus after 1st year). In 4-5 months I'm going to get a promotion once I complete 2 yrs, assuming it'll bring the total salary to be around $70-75K
Recently got an offer from a FANG comp. The offer is $66K base, 17K sign-on bonus in 1st year & 12k in 2nd year & RSUs valued at $40k vesting: 4 years
I think the new offer is quite low, expecting base to be at-least $80k.

I see a lot on this bowl about immediate industry exit compensation. How does compensation in industry grow through your 30’s and 40’s and what is a (very) rough number that it might cap at? Understand this is highly variable but any input would be appreciated :)
