How can anyone still think we’re overreacting to the coronavirus at this point? If you hold this belief, why?

Help needed! Asking for a Brazilian friend who just recently had his O-1 visa approved (first one after an OPT). he got started on a couple jobs, but he’s always getting stuck on the “your I-94 is expired” issue. Some lawyers told him to leave the country, but he can’t seem to schedule an interview in any US consulates, as most are still closed/not taking non emergency cases due to covid. Has anyone been through this situation or have any tips on how to work around it? Thank you!

Covid Vaccine Booster?
Has anyone gotten the booster yet? (Moderna and J&J just got approved in our state) I got Moderna six months ago and wondering where everyone’s head is at?

Moving to Manhattan (from Canada) in a couple of months. Hoping to get a one bed or studio in midtown. Considering that rent may potentially drop due to covid19, what range $ should I be considering?

I’ve been fully vaccinated since early this year (Pfizer), and tested positive for Covid-19 three days ago. I’m laid up in bed feeling terrible and quarantined so that my wife (who tested negative) and two kids don’t catch it from me. Remember: be safe. Don’t relax yet. The vaccines are wonderful, but we can still get it and pass it on.

Is moving to the East Village or LES worth it now with COVID? My partner and I are introverts and don’t mind the lack of night life. Our appeal to the area is being surrounded by young people, the availability of nice restaurants for take out or dine outdoors, nice parks and crossing off our bucket list to live in the city. We also don’t mind if the neighborhood will be a little quiet, but I’ve heard there’s more homeless people, shady people roaming around outside now? Appreciate any insight!

I need some advice:
I recently started a position as a senior writer. I jumped from a copywriter role with this new position. It has not been a smooth onboarding at all. My manager moved off my brand before I could even start working. I was doing a bunch of sitting around for the good part of 2 months! Now since there’s a budget issue they want me to take the spot of the freelancer that was the lead writer with only one real week working under this freelancer. Weird to anyone at all?
