Principal1 - I am just having fun with OP. You raise a very interesting question and you will get very different answers based on each Jew you speak with. I am a reform Jew and I lived in Israel and served time in the Army there through a special program they had. This was in 1989-1990. I am for giving back land for peace. As such, I would stop the settlement building in the West Bank. I am not a fan of Bibi. I am not a fan of Trump. I do not like him. Didn’t vote for him. Won’t vote for him. So I view your question is how do I view Trump as a Jew given he is pro Israel but also supporting white supremacy.
So IMO and that is all this is - MO - While I do believe that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel and am happy the US finally recognized it as such, I would have also have liked the US to have built an embassy in East Jerusalem with the statement that East Jerusalem will be the capital of Palestine. So, on one hand happy Trump recognized Jerusalem but don’t agree with how we went about it. I also think he needs to be harder on Bibi about building settlements. So while Israel is an important part of my life I feel Trump missed the mark (to continue the theme).
I do not believe that Trump is anti-Semitic. Racist in other ways, but if he was anti-Semitic he wouldn’t have survived in NYC real estate without it being a known problem. I have a lot of friends who have had dealings with him. They feel he is an ass, a crook and lots of other things (none positive), but himself being anti-Semitic never has come up. However his rhetoric is very problematic as he does intentionally pander to white supremacy and he incites them. Whether he believes the statements or not what he does to help the white supremacy movement is very scary and troubling for me. It is yet another reason I won’t vote for him
