Oh No! Ross and Carrie (they explore and even join cults and extreme religions; 13 part episode on Scientology, multi part on Mormon Church, etc.); Hardcore History (name speaks for itself) Real Ghost Stories Online (cause.... why not?) Sawbones (medical podcast explaining diseases and debunking crap science like homeopathic “medicine”) Lore (creepy myths and legends from various cultures around the world- soothing voice too ha) Imagine Life (similar to below) the Way I Heard It (great podcast by Mike Rowe! Tells true stories about famous people, revealing the person at the end. My favorite was Lincoln)
The Daily is part of my daily commute.
My commute is the combo of The Daily and NPR’s Up First. Great because Up First gives an overview of the top 3 or so stories of the day and The Daily usually does a deep dive on one of them. Start everyday already knowing something about what is going on around me.
CallHerDaddy
hidden brain. One of my favorites
If you like true crime check out 22 Hours: An American Nightmare, Counter Clock, Doctor Death, and The Clearing.
Love Crime Junkie in this genre as well.
Hardcore History and Beach Too Sandy, Water Too Wet
Stuff you missed in history class is a good one, too, and much shorter
My Favorite Murder, and The Journal
This list is amazing! I can’t wait to try some of these. Thank you to everyone who has replied so far! 🙏
Pardon My Take
1.Girls gotta eat 2. Everything iconic with Danny Pellegrino ( if you watch bravo shows)
Danny P gets me through the week!
Work in Progress with Sophia Bush
My Favorite Murder! Start from the beginning and you’ll have no shortage. 🤣
Circling Back. It’s a podcast about nothing and it feels like riding in the car with friends.
The Daily Radiolab Marketplace Make Me Smart Corner Office Podcast Revisionist History Listen Money Matters Stuff You Should Know Crimetown Business Wars
Hadn't heard that one yet! I loved Pepsi v. Coke.
Radiolab, This American Life, and 99% Invisible are all awesome!
Reply All; Criminal; This American Life
Shit Town
I’m a huge movie fanatic so my choices are film related. 1) Mad about movies (3 guys from Texas talking about the latest releases and movie news) 2) unspooled (2 people spending each episode talking about a movie that’s on the AFI top 100 list 3) the empire film podcast (main British film magazine) 4) movie madness (Chicago guys talking about latest dvds, film reviews, and other movie news 5) directors club (each episode dedicated to a specific director and his filmography)
Thanks for that recommendation! Will check it out.
