Overnight oats. In a big bowl with a cover out a cup or two of thick rolled oats, a cup of Greek yogurt, a little milk, a pinch of salt, a little maple syrup or honey, and a handful of your favorite dried fruits, seeds and nuts. I like unsweetened cherries and blueberries, chia seeds, sesame seeds, and pecans. Stir it up, cover it, and stick in your fridge. In the morning the oats will be delicious and chewy, the fruit will be halfway rehydrated, and the seeds and nuts will still be a bit crunchy. You can make a week of breakfasts in 5 minutes and it takes about 30 seconds to put a scoop in a bowl. I often add a fresh banana in the morning. Very healthy, tasty, and fast. Also filling and digest slowly so fuels you all morning.

Thanks. Will try again - should prove better than the current quest bar, coffee, adderall diet. 😳

Breakfast burritos are easy to make ahead and freeze. Plus very customizable - pack them with veggies, use egg whites, sweet potatoes, turkey bacon, etc.

I am also a fan of Greek yogurt pancakes - mix an egg into a single serving of Greek yogurt then 1/2 c flour and 1 tsp baking soda. Cook in a pan on medium/medium high. Eat it all for a big breakfast or freeze half for later. I like it with peanut butter and bananas on top.

If I’m not feeling breakfast first thing, I wait until 9-10 AM and grab a coffee or something light. It’s okay to defer breakfast and leave a box of muesli in your desk.
Also +1 to the overnight oats. I’m a big fan of prepping breakfast chia pudding too - very chocolatey without a ton of calories and holds me well until lunch. Super easy to make the night before.

I reheat eggs. Some people are grossed out by that, but I don’t mind. I make a dozen at a time, which is good for 3-4 servings. Quick and easy!

NOKA superfood smoothie pouches! They don’t need to be refrigerated. I keep a ton of these and protein bars in my desk for breakfast.

Yogurt with fruit and granola: healthy and easy

I love Core Power protein drinks. They have good macros and actually fill you up. I also like that I can grab one and drink it either on my drive or my walk to the subway!

Get an egg cooker for the microwave. You have yourself a non-fried protein sandwich on a multigrain sandwich thin in less than two minutes.

Anyone ever try Huel or a similar meal replacement?

Skip breakfast with a Bulletproof Coffee. It’s my go-to, especially if I’m in trial. Carbs and sugar spike/crash your energy and will make you eat every two hours. That’s not healthy.

String cheese. Not kidding.

I’ll do that during the next break.

I am getting a 18500 offer from insurance on my 2013 Honda CR-V that was recently considered total based on some frame damage. It has super low 63k miles.
Worth taking it in to carmax for an offer to see what I would get for it?
If I decide to keep and privately sell the car to carmax or someone else. the insurance offer would be 12500 (6k lesser)
Worry the effort?
Originally bought for 26k in 2013. Thx all.

How much do freelancers ACTUALLY make? Like if I’m coming from a sophisticated firm with 5+ years of experience and want to bill myself out to firms to do diligilence, securities reporting review, etc. - how much would that make me per hour, approx? 100? 150-200?

Putting in my notice tomorrow. Could not have come at a worst time. I’m the last associate left in the group (4 partners now).

The other associate just put in notice literally 3 days ago. I did not see that coming, but nonetheless, an offer of my own came in and I can’t say no.

I know a lot of firms have experienced attrition over COVID, but these circumstances make me feel horrible. I’m anticipating a horrible response.

Any insight on how to handle is appreciated.

I am really not thinking straight, please give me your thoughts, advice, leads if your practice is hiring!

How many of you are screamed at by your boss? I'm at my first private firm after working in government and recentlybgot screamed at at work for my first time since high school. It sucked, but my coworkers' casualness about it surprised me- one said all law firms feature rage screaming at least occasionally. I'm not going to leave my job over it, but it would have been a HUGE deal at my old gig and I'm trying to figure out how industry normal this is.
