Got an interview for a position in a different industry. This is my first interview in person since COVID started. I thought it was kind of weird they wanted me to come in, and when I asked about the precautions their taking - they said they obey all CDC standards, but didn’t mention anything about masks. When I asked, they said “you can wear one if you want.” Idk how comfortable I am going into an office where ppl aren’t wearing masks. Thoughts?

I feel like it’s getting harder to exit to industry from consulting. Industry roles increasingly seem to be looking for a technical skill set that most consulting roles don’t help you to develop. Excel, PowerPoint, and “critical thinking” don’t seem to cut it anymore. Anyone else noticing this trend?

I was just given a special parking spot and told I could move to the (recently vacant) nicer, larger office with a view of downtown. And I was given permission to buy new furniture for my new office. I feel so special! Now, anybody have suggestions on choosing good quality office furniture and how to figure out best layout for the space? I’ve always just made it work cramped in a tiny office, with old cardboard-quality furniture, and stacks of paper and books everywhere.

Recruiter reached out about KPMGs Lenders Deals advisory position. Currently only been in audit for less than a year at a Top10 firm. My question is: if I move from audit to the lenders deal advisory, Is it pidgin holing me since this role is smaller in scope than FDD? Or is it still a good move purely since I’d be getting B4 on my resume?
