This what you’re trying to do?
Omg. You’re trying to count hotel nights for a single room to solve the SPG/Marriott count issues! You’re using excel? Really???
Sounds like a COUNTIF might be your solution. May need a helper column
Can you give an example?
Gives you an idea of how data is setup. With expected output being Overlaps
How many time ranges do you have? I assume you'll need to make a comparison grid that's NxN
@Morgan Stanley Yes! That's exactly it
Op, just threw it together quickly, so make sure you test it out before using
Now I just need to adapt it so it will do this only for cells which share a common uniqueID. Eg -- want to find overlaps by person's name (Joe), but there are multiple names in the table, each with a variable number of rows
And yeah, I'll test it out and see if it handles all of the cases.
Just add the unique ID to the countifs
Yep, just did that. Thanks for the help! Much appreciated.
