Trying to get a DMV knowledge test for my teenage child for learners permit in NJ. There are no apts available for initial permit that is required to book a knowledge test but the person at DMV asked me to get a non-driver ID first and then use that to register for knowledge test. Anyone knows if that would work?

I’m 5 weeks with my second and dying of exhaustion and nausea. Let my kid watch two movies this morning while I slept and then also slept during their nap. Wtf. I have some part time freelance work I need to do and can’t find the energy at all. Almost thankful to have lost my job, I don’t think I could handle it. I remember if being like this the first time, but man.

My maternity leave will be over by the end of July. When should I start reaching out to the team (coach, manager/directors etc)? Anyone returned from their maternity leave recently (after COVID) having trouble connecting or getting back on projects due to everyone working from home? Any advise would be much appreciated!!

Took a blood test and found out that we are pregnant on 9/1. Our beta tests looked good. I have my first ultrasound appt not until 9/15. Are there any hcg test I can take at home so I know it's still rising appropriately until my appt? I'm being cautiously optimistic...

I (36F) am married to another woman (34F) and we have a baby (5moF). We split all childcare, cleaning, meal prep, errands etc fairly evenly and it works well. Maybe she cooks more than I do bc she likes it, and I clean more bc I need to have a clean house. My friend (35F) recently took a business trip and literally put a binder together with instructions for her husband re: daycare drop off and pick up, what to feed the kids, when to take out the trash and so on. I posted here some months back about my ectopic pregnancies but today, I'm posting to tell you all to hang in there and God will do it for you. (Please don't insult me of you don't believe in God because I strongly do).
In a nut shell, we had baby #1 without trying. Started trying for #2 and over 2 years, I had 4 miscarriages and 2 ectopics. In July, my doc informed me that the only way forward was through IVF. I was tired and confused. I PRAYED! and continued trying. (The rest in the comments.)

Does anyone do adult dance as a workout? Like ballet, or take other types of dance classes? How do you find it? As a kid, certain sports have a kind of intense environment, but I’m curious if adults feel this way if they take classes for things like dance.

Looking for some specific info on Short Term Disability eligibility at EY. I would like to accept an offer, but won’t be eligible for 16-wk parental leave before 1 yr of tenure. This is an important detail for me since I am expecting this year. I have received in email that for parents who have a child *before* 1 year, that they are eligible for STD after 3 mnths at 100% for 6 weeks (+3weeks of approved PTO). is there fine print that pregnancy is a ‘pre-existing condition’ and I’d be denied?

EY 🐠 - potentially starting with the firm soon, and my partner is due to have our first in April. Given the 1 year service requirement for leave, would I have the option to take PTO during birth and use parental leave after my 1 year of service? Appreciate any guidance here

Do you think using “him/her” for “he/she” (ex: “her is playing” “him not here yet”) is something that kids usually grow out of? Or does it need direct intervention? I have 2 students who exhibit this error, who otherwise should be dismissed. Normally I’d just keep them on and work on it alongside other goals, but they don’t have any other goals, and with COVID, and my upcoming maternity leave in March, a more compact caseload would be advantageous.

Just heard that my district will have classroom and live-recording learning. I’m thankful because I now can feed my family, my newborn and a recent-sponsored wife! I’m scared because I’m almost 50 and I’m afraid I might catch the virus and die leaving behind my 1 month baby and a wife who is not legal in the state yet! The USCIS or Trump’s dept. thinks she’s not good enough to be in the US!! We applied for green card and SS card since August 2019!

Heading to Portsmouth, NH as a base for July 4th weekend. Any tips on family-friendly activities / towns to walk around? Kid isn't a big fan of the beach, so won't be spending much time there.

I’ve been asked to weigh in on how to improve my firms parental leave policy. It’s currently 8 weeks paid for birth parent with an extra week for each year at the firm (up to 12 weeks total) and 2 weeks paid for non-birth parent. I’m in a major city, firm is a boutique that has been around a very long time. What would you suggest? Any studies or research you’ve seen recently on trends in parental leave policies also helpful. I’d like to have some sort of data to back up what I recommend. TIA!
