Trying to get a gauge of if my promotion raise this year was reasonable or not: I’m being promoted to manager in industry and the raise was 15.5%. Given the high inflation environment and the fact that we are getting acquired by a PE firm in a month or two, I would have expected more than that. While I am grateful for the promotion and a raise, I can’t help feeling like I’m getting lowballed at the same time. Does that seem like a good increase for the situation?

Seems solid, be acquired by PE firm may not mean a good thing from comp side.

Yeah I'd try to get them to up the pay now

I would probably bail if you are going private. If you want to make decent money, you need to be an accountant at a PubCo.

If you get equity in the pubco you work for, make sure to sell and diversify asap.

Not sure why you think your company being acquired by a PE in a couple of months is the least bit relevant to your raise.

Key employees may have been given retention bonuses. Beyond that, don’t expect an increase just because the company is being acquired. I’m sure the current increases needed to be approved by the PE under the terms of the purchase and sale agreement.

Realizing I lowballed myself moving to a big city from a smaller one in terms of salary. Now I’m up for a promotion... but average salary for that is 40k more - do I dare ask?! Or am I screwed?

Can anyone provide insight into Meta Lead Counsel/IC5 total comp? I have an offer (DC) for 210 base/15% bonus/185 equity over four years, and I’m wondering what others have received, how much I can negotiate, etc. I understand base and bonus may not be negotiable, but I’ve heard that technical folks have negotiated equity packages 3-4x the amount I was offered - so is there a lot of room there? Thanks in advance!

Hi Fishies!
I am in the process of negotiating an offer with a new company and I asked for a higher base but they came in saying i would be “at parity” with my peers. They did try to adjust the bonus so TC would be close to what I am looking for. However, the signon bonus is a bit lower than what I was hoping. How do you negotiate that and what do I say? Truth is, I am still a bit on the fence about the move. I really like my boss and my team and we have so many amazing (TBC below)

I suspect I have ADHD. I show multiple symptoms but am wondering about one specifically.until my promotion to manager I was considered high performer. now am stuck and can’t figure out how to progress. I am very good in executing and repeating what I know but have major issues in shaping an approach or identifying new opportunities. And if I don’t know how to continue I am just staring at my screen or finding distractions. Can this be related to ADHD or is it maybe just time for a career change?

When I tried negotiating the base salary they said that the comp team isn’t budging on it due to team metrics and my experience (2.5 years as SDE). Is this a good offer to take?
