Trying to go from audit to it audit at another big 4 as an experienced associate. Did my first BS in audit, got an associate referral to this other big 4. How long does it take to hear anything?

I currently work at an international law firm (4 years) and recently accepted an offer to go in house. The main attorney I support did not take the news well and was very angry with me. I feel awful and beaten down as I don’t want to upset anyone but the new role is fully remote and a nice pay bump. Looking for words of encouragement that I did the right thing. I feel awful 😞
