Trying to pay back student loan. Currently in a situation to save $1000/month towards student debt. But urgently need to reach a goal of 45k by 08/2022. Actively investing in Crypto. Not doing stock market but learning and trying to start that soon. Any Suggestions on how I could crush that goal?

Hey team! So I was laid off from my SDR position about a week ago. A couple months back, I had an offer for a BDR position that I ended up turning down but I really liked and connected with the manager. Is it worth it to reach out? Also I’m sorry if this is the wrong bowl to post in.

Hey fishes!

I’ve got a quick question. Does companies allow people to work on another part-time projects (freelancing), during their employment? Most companies have restricted their employees to be involved in such side gigs, right?

Then how do people freelance? They do it without letting the company know?

Vanguard Retirement Fund or Personal Allocation of ETFs? (24M) Does anyone have an opinion on which is the better option? This is in addition to my 401K plan. It seems like the retirement funds have higher fees since they’re mutual funds, but the convenience of just being able to automatically invest each month, rather than try to stay diversified yourself, is appealing to me. Maybe I’m just new to this, but it’s hard to grasp what the ACTUAL cost of all the fees are for the retirement fund.

Trying to break into real estate rental market. I know the market is generally ‘hot’ right now. But any suggestions on cities to invest in? Bad idea to invest outside your city/state? Single family home vs. condo? What are your metrics for determining if the property is right from a financial perspective? Ideally looking to put down as little as possible vs. 20%. TIA!

I’m curious how much other people with similar incomes save/invest a year; I’m a 24M, making 70K a year in a HCOL city. I saved about $12K in my first year of working out of college, and I feel like that’s pretty good but I could’ve done better. My rent isn’t too pricey, but I went on 3 vacations, go out to the bars frequently, and spend pretty freely on food. Anyone care to share their income and corresponding savings for FIRE?

This sounds like a crazy question, but if you have 1MM in working capital invested in the markets at 35 and you are looking at spending 150-200k in retirement. 4-5MM target number.

All of my models say you would no longer need save, but just finance your lifestyle until 60. Does that math check out?

Hey everyone! Question on how you manage concious spending plans: do you have separate checking accounts for going out, groceries, etc. if so how do you handle credit cards? Do you subtract the money for each category account when you pay a credit card bill? Seems so complex. Is there anyway to simplify (note: we are a couple with joint accounts)
