Thoughts on part-time check-the-box MBA? I’’ 32, and am on track for promotion to SM. I can’t justify doing a part-time MBA at a top school and taking on all the debt. An MBA has always been a goal of mine, and some state schools provide an affordable price tag but I’m not sure if it’s worth it at all if it’s not a top 20 school.
New to the company. CSG Professional Services. Hoping to be promoted from Senior Manager (Level 8) to Director (Level 9) after a year. Came onboard with a terrific RSU offer. How likely is it that upon promotion I will be offered an additional RSU allotment?
Am I the only one who doesn’t care about promotion? I’m happy as long as I am not bored / have something to do everyday, and working with fun / nice people
DOJ will reissue a sentencing proposal for Stone after Trump complained about it being “unfair” on Twitter. Raise your hand if you think he will issue a pardon for Stone eventually.
Bit of a unique situation. I think my offices FDD team is falling apart. Since covid, 1/1 partner resigned , 2/3 of SM quit, 2/2 managers quit. I’m a bit concerned with deal flow moving forward. What would you do in this situation? Should I try to jump to another firm? Maybe ask for a raise? Honestly I am getting pretty crispy mental health wise
Hey TSE fam, just successfully completed the sign to close phase of an acquisition. Great relationship built with senior manager as well as client. Client said he is now considering requesting me for the rest of the year for the post close integration. What are the pros and cons of staying? Will it be a positive or negative for when I’m up for promotion to manager next year? Thanks for your advice!
Would you move from D to other Big 4 with only 20k raise (115 -> 135k)? Assuming you need to restart GC process from scratch a year after joining
I don't understand when people got promoted to C from BTA feel SO HAPPY... it's not performance based promotion. As long as you don't screw up the firm, you are "promoted"it's merely a title change
Anyone go through intense anxiety (shaking legs, sweaty palms)? I’ve been facing that for two years and feel intense pressure of smallest of tasks and lack of self worth about not getting a promotion
Any San Antonio 🐟 here? Thinking about relocating from Chicago and am wondering if it is a good place to raise a family
Extremely fed up with manager favouritism. You promote your favourite, get them more work while you don't even give me a raise!
Has anyone heard of someone getting promoted after passing their CPA? Even if they do so after promotion time? Exceptions?
I want to quit after my promotion to senior. Is doing a busy season as a senior really that vital to my career? Will it make a difference in the job offers I’ll get in industry? Looking for advice.
Raise your hand if you feel like you actually DON’T get steam rolled by your CD or higher up during a pitch?
Just realized I've spent years working to get my promotion. Now that I got it, I'm alone, tired and can't find a suitable partner. I don't do the apps. Work too much to have a social circle, and...
I’m a second year BTA up for promotion to C this year. What roles/positions should I apply for? Hoping for possible $100K-110 pay. Mostly do functional and PMO work with CS background
In a tough situation and need some advice. I’m an audit associate who got passed up for senior promotion this year, but senioring a busy season engagement. There is another senior that is supposed to be on the job, but he hasn’t been staffed on the engagement the past couple weeks and is off this week. I now have the full responsibility of this engagement on my hands and feel like it’s pretty unfair considering I got passed up for promotion and am not getting paid to be a senior. What do I do?
One more week of vacation to book before the Q4 rush ... preferably out of the country. Any good suggestions? We like "off the beaten path" non-touristy vibes.

When applying to my next employer, do they need to know/do they find out that I was on short term disability at one point while at my current employer? I fear this would ding me as they would view me as a potential risk.
Spent a year in banking at an EB but had to go back to school because of H1B visa issues. About to start as a BA at McK in the fall. Any thoughts on my ability to recruit for summer 2022 PE Assoc roles? Or do I have to spend minimum 2 years in consulting before making the switch?
If you were offered a partner position now, but it required working until a typical retirement age (65 y/o), would you do it?
Completed all formal interviews for an opportunity. Now they'd like me to have an informal meet & greet with the person I would be managing. I love the idea of this and I already manage in my current role. Looking for other HR 🐠 perspectives on how to approach this informal meet & greet...take the lead? Treat it like a 1:1? Ask what her professional goals are? How she's managed WFH during COVID? Her experience in the company/on the team? Her communication style/how she likes to receive feedback
What are some good outside resources for drafting your resume and preparing to interview?
Any firms that have made the "work from home" decision yet? We've been getting preparation notices for weeks but not officially given the signal.

For Mega Backdoor Roth contributions why do most articles/people focus on conversion to Roth IRA vs. Roth 401k? Been doing the former for years but starting to think latter might be easier/cheaper.
Me to CA : I feel happy with my job. My wlb and my pay My career advisor : that means you should take a leadership role in D&I, help more with recruiting and get another certification. Me : I want to stay happy with my job. CA : *laughs*
I’m all about that work from home life. However it is insulting and unprofessional when a colleague who is in the office blows off a scheduled meeting with you when you are virtual as they bumped into another colleague in the office. Anyone else noticing issues like this now that we are in this hybrid mode. How do you address it?
How do you spend the Summer (if you’re not in the classroom)? Are you relaxing and recharging or are you engaging in some type of content specific or pedagogical training?
Revamping my agency's terrible internship program. For those of you who have had a great internships, what made it so great? What were the most valuable things you learned? If you had a not-so-great experience, what could you have done without? What do you wish you would've learned? Thanks in advance!
Canadian 🐟 who have moved back to Canada, what is the best way to handle your 401k, Roth IRA, Plain old brokerage account, and bank accounts? I would personally like to not touch any of these and let them to do their thing in the US till I need the money, but I also want to avoid double taxation on all of these
