Any federal AWS solutions architect working for Deloitte? How is the hiring process, especially for those that do not have hands on cloud experience? I’m getting a feeling there’s more focus on expanding work with experienced hires and less on growing people who have potential and related skills.
The most comfy shoes I’ve ever worn!

Federal or commercial? If federal, not bad, if commercial, sign on especially is low.
Seems low. I work for Accenture / have 11 YOE and make $240k between base and bonus in a much lower cost of living city. And that’s with me never jumping for a better offer.
Thanks for the insights. I guess this means that I am severely underpaid at my current place since this new offer still is a substantial jump.

Eh, I was making 190 TC in industry and came to consulting for a 100k+ increase. Consulting just pays a lot more frankly unless you are Csuite-1 in industry.
Keep in mind consulting has far longer hours than industry, at least until you become a seasoned consulting SM - once you get the hang of it you can do 50 hour work weeks or less. But expect to work more your first year and at a different pace (any project timeline you had before divide it in half) in both speed and stress. I don’t regret it at all, but as I get older I plan to go to a 9-5 making far less for the luxury of time to spend with SO before we’re too old to be active (e.g. at 60 it is unlikely we will be running marathons - I know people do it but kore exception than rule)
10 YOE then that seems very low
This is low!!
