Trying to settle a debate here. Do you love and have fun with the work that you do? I have been asking around and many of the career oriented people I’ve asked have basically said “Unfortunately no, it’s not fun most of the time. You can only be so lucky to love what you do” I’m still striving to find a job I love and have fun with but now I am not sure if I am setting an unrealistic expectation for myself 🤔 If you have struck gold, feel free to share what you do and what you love about it!

Yes, I do - many people say it's not possible to achieve this but you have to prioritize what's improtant to you in a job. Many people don't have what's important to them figured out

I don't know - i sort of do think it is possible to have a job you love. I think PM 1 makes a good point about figuring out what's important to you

Few tips to improve your visual design skills

- Learn Typography: Typography is essential because 60-70% of user interfaces are about written content displayed in a meaningful way.

- Learn Layout and Composition: You don’t need to be pixel perfect, but if you place labels 10px above inputs, you must do that consistently across your whole design.

- Learn Color: Color doesn't need to be complex. Understand how colors interact with each other and learn how color can set moods.

One key selling point, as they are trying to offer is the opportunity to work one day a week to use for things like training, acquiring certifications or building applications that you are interested in.

This sounds amazing. I don't get that at my current job. So, is this too good to be true? I would like your opinion on this.

As the job market recovers and tech talent becomes especially sought-after, some job seekers can be at a crossroads.

Fledgling startup or a big, established company: where would you work?

Working at a startup helps you pick up new cross-functional skills, forces you to dig deeper into your reserves, and allows leadership opportunities.

Big companies typically have a more structured path for career growth, offer benefits and perks to employees, and are perceived as more stable.

I need some ideas for my last hour class. I teach reading only and I have this class first hour for reading and then last hour again for “communication skills”. I plan on some days doing prodigy, maybe passion projects, and maybe reading groups. This class has a lot of sped kids. By the time last hour comes, they are all over the place. I need things to keep them from going crazy, but want it to be purposeful also. Any suggestion?

I am hesitating to take lead role. But for my experience (8 YOE) I will have to take up that role at least in my next switch.

Could you please suggest me how can I come out of this fear. I am afraid of taking lead role because of below things.

1. Taking ownership for entire team deliverables.
2. Had to attend every requirement call and as well as technical review calls. (When BA is not good, need to provide acceptance criteria points).
3. Providing and justifying resource/work estimates.
