Depends how close you are to them. If you met his parents you need to at least get a family present for their house I think. Doesn’t need to be expensive just something to show you thought of them at all. This is regardless of whether you spent holidays w them or not
We give gifts to in-laws but not to brothers/sisters. We draw names out of a hat for all the grandkids. If you have two kids, you draw two names, etc. Really helps with budgeting and reduces stress.

Agreed with M1. I always bring something like a gift basket, bottle of wine, even just a candle as something for the hosts of the holiday. Otherwise usually no presents for adults, sometimes something small for children like nieces/nephews depending on how close they are and how many there are.
