Trying to switch from lit to corporate. Thoughts on whether to go through a referral (benefit of having someone vouching for you) or direct apply (lowest cost to the firm)?

I think right now it seems that firms really prefer the internal referral- hence the increased referral bonuses etc. Feel free to DM me because my firm is open to retooling people into corporate roles.

K&E is open to it. Feel free to DM me if you have any interest. Going through someone at the firm you’re going to is almost always more effective if the person who refers you had a good reputation within the firm.

Goodwin is open to this as well, feel free to DM me if you'd like to chat more

You exhausted options to switch within your own firm yet, if your firm does both?

What did they say? Firms are so desperate for corporate people that I’m genuinely curious is the logic of them turning your request down.

I am a skilled nursing facility biller and collector for Medicare & Insurance, my job can absolutely be remote but the company I work for refuses to allow employees to work remotely. I’ve been with this company for 10 years and am looking elsewhere to find the same position but remote so I can move out of state. Noticing that other companies don’t pay billers well, making me feel stuck. This job is a lot harder than people realize and feeling like I already don’t get paid enough. Any advice?

Hi there,
I’m a bit newer to data science and recently read through a few academic case studies on ethical fairness in ML/modeling. Would love to start a thread to hear some more from data scientist/ML perspective.
The most harmful example I came across was bias in ML for the criminal justice system.

Is anyone currently in a data science/ML position willing to share their thoughts/maybe an example based on experience? Thinking about how to actively prevent this kind of bias in future models

I was contacted today by our President saying the company is looking to “backfill” with current employees who have buying experience for the next 1-2 quarters. As I have said experience, he wondered if I’d be “willing to entertain” being one of those people. He mentioned extra money (no specific amount) and asked me to mull it over this weekend. How do I navigate this professionally, make sure to protect my time & work in my current role, and negotiate proper comp if I decide to accept? 🤷🏻‍♂️
