Trying to transfer from audit to FDD at my firm, should I expect to be asked technical questions in the interviews? Or since it’s an internal transfer will it be more general?

Any EY EAs having any luck finding new roles in the firm? The new career portal is not very CBS friendly 🤷🏼‍♀️ I wonder how many of us are applying for the very small amount of openings that randomly pop up for a few days.

I’ve been at my job for 9 years. Haven’t had much experience in new technology as they didn’t want it in the company. I’m learning these technologies on my own. However, get turned down for interviews since I don’t have any actual years of experience.
How do I get past this hurdle in applying for more oracle DBA and similar roles?

How long is too long?
I’m at the end of a recruiting process that includes 5 interviews and a take-home assessment, all of which went well. That was 18 days ago. The HR rep was on vacation and came back 6 days ago. She told me she was going to meet with the CD to regroup 5 days ago. I still haven’t heard anything. Is this normal?

How did you start and in hindsight was there a better way? What was your favorite case prep resources, books, or courses? What was the least helpful resource that you wish you hadn’t wasted time on? Hi 🐠 ! If I’m 100% new to casing (have a business degree but have been in audit for a year), how long do you recommend practicing case interviews to be strong at it? Is 6-8 weeks sufficient? Would likely be applying for analyst/associate roles. My friends in consulting keep reassuring me that it’s a learned skill but after watching my first case interview ngl I’m pretty intimidated 😅

I interviewed for a role last week and followed up with the recruiter this week. The recruiter said the team is still working on finishing the final interviews before making a decision but if I have any competing offers or timeline issues, I should let her know.

Does this mean that they already have a decision on my interview and are just waiting to send out the rejects all together or is there still hope?

Is there any downside to applying to a bunch (5 ish) roles at the same tech company? Do recruiters ding you for being open to a spectrum of things, particularly at the mid sized firms where there might be only a few people eyeing resumes.

I didn’t get asked one for my current role and it’s looking like I won’t for the one I’m interviewing for now.

To be fair, all anyone ever does is pick people they know will say really good things anyway. So maybe removing them just saves everyone time.

In a social chat the other day, a person in our group expressed strongly that people should be hired regardless of their legal status to work in any country, as long as they were in willing to work, and stated they were qualified for the job.

For context, everyone in that social outing was a migrant to the country, and the person expressing their view was from Mexico and while a minor crossed the US border illegally but left shortly before they were considered an adult.

I have switched to a new company recently. Though they have offered me good package I had to work daily for about 12hrs to get in touch with onshore functional team. This is happening daily.
