MDs/Partners at PWC/KPMG = SCs at Deloitte
“Director at KPMG or PwC is Manager at Deloitte”
-every Deloitte recruiter ever
It’s also the people at Deloitte that say it (as a former Deloitte consultant). Everyone tried to brag to themselves internally that a SC at Deloitte is a manager everywhere else. Simply not true. It’s virtually the same role. Except Deloitte trolls the lower level by making a BA and C role

Also to add in, Associate Director is in between Manager and D for those in BPG.
Senior manager at PwC is an awkward phase between manager and director. Director is really where you end up sitting and waiting for your move to partner or MD. I think SM1 and maybe SM2 is equivalent to SM at Deloitte, but an SM4 at Deloitte is a director at PwC.
Thanks. I work as a SM at a small niche, private consulting company and trying to break into KPMG or PwC. Trying to understand what would be the right level for me to apply at.

Well what's your current experience OP? Being an SM at a small firm is prob very diff than being an SM at a big 4, but hard to tell without you sharing more info. I know people who have the title Senior Manager who have ~6 YOE, which would probably get you SC at D.
Sorry, should have explained better in my last post.
I have about 13 years exp with about 6 years in project/program management. I manage a team of 20 (Devs/QA/BA). The current engagement is worth $15-16M (about 5M a year). I don’t do much sales but help in business development with proposal writing.
