I am in my forties as well. Also F, single, childless. I find so much freedom, and love that I have the flexibility to do whatever. I often feel sorry for my married friends, some of them, if not all, I think are downright miserable. I do whatever, I have dabbled in photography, painting, climbing, mountaineering etc etc etc. I am now aiming to get a 6 pack by end of this year. Maybe Ill get there, may be not. I will enjoy the journey nonetheless. Read, Exercise, play with my camera, plan trips, go for walks, shop groceries for some older neighbors are somethings I do during the day ( I hate to cook). Pick up a hobby or two, anything, enjoy this time at home! We won’t get it back!

Similar age but happily married with kids. But, to keep sane I have learned to fix things around the house, decided to get back in shape with biking and other training, and decided to read a lot about a given topic until it is exhausted then jump to a new topic. I make my kids learn with me so they develop self sufficiency, but I am having a blast seeing that I can do things that I couldn’t a few short years ago.

I started smoking cigarettes at age 46 two months after COVID started. Frankly I really enjoy the taste of nicotine and find myself having a bit more stimulation and increased concentration. It’s not the healthiest thing to do but a nice, enjoyable simple pleasure.

I’m really intrigued by this too. I started smoking late 30s. I don’t care for the taste, but more going through the motions. Definitely an activity smoker though. Playing golf or if friends are smoking when they drink. Can you tell us what made you start?

Breaking point! Help! I'm really struggling to find pace with taking care of my child and working full time. My wife and I are basically tag teaming all day and just going through the motions. Giving only 10% at work and feel like I am losing it. Wife and I both are back logged and managing child plus job and household chores etc is getting to us (to me atleast). How do you all manage? Advise?

Is there anyone that is teaching from home and your students have returned to school? How did you get permission to do that and how does that work with kids in the classroom? I am guessing there has to be an adult in the room while the students are in there but is there another teacher during their planning or do you have to get a sub? Our reentry has been delayed and I am working with HR to try and stay home while students aren’t there but it looks like I’m going to have to take some Parental Leave once students do return because there is not a plan otherwise.

I teach at a small school that has been f2f hybrid all year. It's so exhausting because I never know what to expect bc the students come in some days and stay home other days without notice. For example, I have one kid who goes between mom and dad's house. Mom keeps him at home, dad doesn't believe in covid.
