Naive question: How many yearly billable hours are reasonable for a good balance of work and home. I have a young child and don't want to miss out on important moments. I had one firm state that their yearly quota is 1900 hours and I don't have a frame of reference as to whether this is reasonable or if it means 12 hour days. I am coming from public service so billables are 100% new to me. Any insight is appreciated.

We just experienced our first meltdown with 2 kids under 2. We scheduled back to back dr appts for me and our toddler so my husband had to drive and bring everyone. Hi, everyone. How realistic it is to start a career at McKinsey as an Associate when I just had a baby and my husband also has a demanding job?
Positive: My mom lives with us and takes care of the baby a lot + nanny/cleanin, and I am hoping to not travel because my industry is in the city.
Negative: Burned out at my current consulting company, working 10-11hours/day. I haven't felt guilt yet, bc I am WFH and I get to see her from 6 to 9 am then 1-2 hrs before bedtime and then I keep working.

My husband is suffering from depression and OCD and has kind of given up on his career, working out, grooming himself, engaging with society and friends. He’s an amazing father but spends his day playing with our baby and playing video games. His depression has become a third person in our relationship and it’s destroying our marriage. He doesn’t think anything is wrong and refuses to get individual therapy or go to couples counseling. What can I do? Should I reach out to his fam?I’m miserable.

How involved are your and your SO’s parents in the wedding planning process? My fiancé’s parents are very interested, and they want to be able to help financially.
