1st Job - 90k…. Is this a good salary? Late to the game at 34. Don’t even know anything about personal finance. Basically feeling like an 18 year old over here with no knowledge of how to run my own life. Having to start over after long term controlling relationship where I was left out of all the finance stuff. So I’m lost TBH. Engineering makes sense, managing my money not so much.
Anyone else cry after men make aggressive inappropriate advances towards you? I can fiercely handle the conversation in the moment, set boundaries, and chew them a new one, but after the dust settles I always end up breaking down and I’m not quite sure how to explain the phenomenon.

Hello, I am a Risk Analyst at a software company and have been a top performer on my team for a year now. I was hired on with the impression that my company will pay top performers “top of market salaries” because it is stated in the culture deck of the company. Through independent research I have found that I am not being compensated “top or market” and according to most sources I am not even at the median salary for risk analysts in our industry with similar experience and education. Thoughts?

Hey! I got an offer today from R@kuten for Sr Business Analyst of CAD $110K+15% annual bonus. Verbally in conversation with recruiter I had asked for CAD 115+10% annual bonus. I was initially offered $110k+10% annual bonus. I think I’ve already priced myself low which might be decent (not sure) for Toronto but way less in comparison with Bay Area where most of team will be based off. Any advice on how to ask for more base or joining bonus?
Just received a preliminary offer from Silicon Valley Bank for a Lead FIU Analyst position with a base salary of 83k and a target bonus of 18%. The recruiter indicated to me he couldn't formally submit an offer until the background check has been completed. However, he indicated there's no room to negotiate the salary and I needed to affirm my interest in the role before continuing. I would like to counter this offer. Could I counter this offer once the formal offer letter has been submitted?
If I am interviewing for a new position as a Project Management Specialist and there is a listed salary range with a cap of $67,000 but the market says the average for this position is $95,000 in the area I live in should I try to negotiate above $67,000 or accept the max salary they have listed?

Hi everyone! I have my first round of interviews at Dapper Labs this week for a Content Marketer role. They mentioned in the email that they would want to talk about compensation during the call. Does anyone have an idea of what the band is for this role/department?
If a company writes only the minimum salary amount in their hiring post, should you assume the maximum amount the company has budgeted for the role is $10k more than the minimum? Or do companies usually have a wider range than $10k?
I'm a Marketing student and was recently offered part time internship positiom on the marketing team of really cool FinTech Venture Capital company .During the final interview , I luckily asked for their pay range for interns and almost fell to the ground when he said $30/hr min. I would have said $18/$20 if I hadn't asked him instead .The average student earns between $15-$20 ...so it sounds really good but that's only an opening offer. Should I ask for a higher amount like $35 -$40?
Hey fishies, need some advice. I got a job offer from a Saas company today.
My previous salary was $85k (base salary, no commission or bonus)
New job offer is $122k OTE (50% base, 50% variable commission + bonus)
Base = $61k
Commission = $37.5k
Bonus= $23.6k (paid quarterly)
TA + Hiring Manager both said the team reaches 100-150% sales target every month.
The salary range for the role is $120k-$180k OTE, I was expecting to be offered the higher quartile of that range
Hey guys, I'm a biomedical technician I with no degree and I'm about to hit my one year anniversary with the company. It's starting to get hard to show up to my job and give 110% when I know that I'm not being paid what I'm worth, and have to work extra hours at a side job to make ends meet. How would you start a conversation with your boss about this? Mine is very kind and I think would be understanding, but this is new territory for me
I’m on a 6-month extendable contract and my manager really likes me; she always says that they want to convert me ASAP, however they don’t have the budget right now to hire me. They plan to hire me by the end of the year (7-month mark) but that means I won’t get paid for 3 days during thanksgiving and a whole week during December. How can I push for them to make me permanent as soon as possible? This is my first job out of college so I’m not sure how to approach this situation.
