I'm offered an L64 role at Microsoft and it is a bit under my expected range. Any thoughts/insights on compensation for Cloud Solution Architect with 8 years of experience. 160k base, 20k sign-on bonus, 75k total RSUs
For folks that went from MBB/T2 into Big 4, why did you make that switch and did you get a boost in title that you would not have reached at MBB/T2.
A partner submitted my resume to her firm’s recruiting department and I got called in for an interview. I’m researching the interviewers and one is the hiring attorney. Is that a good sign or routine? (I haven’t worked in big law to know.)
At what level and salary do EMs exit into FAANG? I'm a recent EM at MBB and I'll look to get out of consulting soon. Can one expect L6/L6 at 300K for bizops/strategy roles? Top 10 mba +2 years MBB
IBD to Strategic Finance in a tech firm; any possible plays? Any insight in to VCs vs PEs (in tech) and/or should I just sit tight till exit?
As head of a division in industry, we work a lot with vendors. Increasingly I am noticing that men working at vendor firms have offer resistance when I ask for more details/invoice timings etc. I recently had a partner from a mid size firm telling me that he will be sending the invoice without phase completion. Ofcourse, I pushed back since the work is not done and it's not per contract, and he comes back asking me to be flexible. I am ex MBB, and am quite surprised at this attitude. Cont...
The pandemic has taken a toll on my as far as learning how to be a manager while still doing the work. Considering taking a role a level below so I can just focus on the work. Any thoughts or advice?
Which is better when it comes to MBB and healthcare technology / product companies (like Amazon) recruiting? Duke or Ross? Also any other consider in this bucket?
From talking to students at multiple M7 schools, it seems like all of the BB/MBB/FAANG companies recruit at most if not all of the schools . So if you're planning on recruiting for one of these, is there really a major difference in career opportunities between each school? Asking because it seems like some schools are specifically known for finance vs consulting vs tech, but if the companies are all recruiting at all these schools, the differences don't seem as pronounced to me.
I currently work as a personal injury lawyer at a small law firm, 5 years experience, graduated from T30 law school in 2015. Our subject area is pretty niche, and I am looking to branch out. Not big law, but a different subject area, and hopefully something with a better work life balance (have a small child with hopes for more). Open to leaving the law for a compliance/HR/other type position. Am I even marketable for something like that? Am I being unrealistic?
Hi Fishes, I have got an offer from Wipro, was hired for an immediate requirement for some project named ELC. Does anyone know about this account? I confirmed from the HR that it is a support and development role and has only day shift. Just doubting the shift, I can't work in night shifts How is the work life balance in Wipro? Does they provide any reimbursement for WFH peripherals like Accenture does?
What would you all say is the sweet spot at which to exit consulting? Is it at the manager level?
Looking to leave consulting after 3.5 years. I would like to find a remote opportunity. Anyone know of any great consulting exit opportunities?
Are MBB/consulting experience + technical masters (e.g., data science, CS) ever complementary when looking at exit opps, or are they too different to overlap (or, in other words, will the former have been a waste of time if pursuing the latter)?
What is so good about MBB vs other strategy groups? Besides status (is their high status justified?)
Is it worth it to jump from a Corp dev position at a large strategic holding company to go into MM sell side banking? The ultimate goal is to get into PE or work Corp dev at an early stage company
Hi All - I've below offers and request a suggestion to pick. YOE: 11 CTS: 23lpa includes 1.5L variable, joining bonus: 1L; Designation: Manager but role would be lead Wipro: 20lpa includes 2L variable, Designation: Tech Lead Cts looks to be the option but I'm not clear on the reasons for high attrition at CTS. Help me out pls.
What would you all say are the best consulting firms to work at in the federal government space? I’m not sure how many “prestigious” firms (like MBB) have a significant federal practice at all.
Approved for in-lieu of travel next weekend. Due to team decision, we're now WFH next week. I assume the change fee on the flight to get home instead of client is on me, correct?
So everyone I know is experiencing high turnover lately, doesn’t seem like it will slow down anytime soon. How many do you think are just choosing to go freelance vs. another agency? Anyone else seriously considering the plunge? Seems like freelance is pretty much staying remote which would be nice...
Anyone know about comp as a strategy and product development associate at Citadel, in the office of CAO?
Which McKinsey office is bigger - LA or SF? Especially for operations/implementation practice. Is there any culture difference?
This may sound bizarre but in a pinch. I have been jumping through hoops trying to get imaging for a new lump in my chest. Everything is so far booked in my area that it’s impossible to get scans same week even if you call first thing Monday AM. It’s now been two weeks since I discovered it and am still waiting on schedules to get tests done. My insurance covers ER visits 100%…wondering if I just do it? I have a busy life and really just need answers.
Folks who have been naturalized -- is it really necessary to bring printed copies of tax returns or evidence of your international trips to the interview? I've read about people bring several years worth of tax returns but nowhere does it say on USCIS.
Anyone hiring at a non profit?
Hey Fishes. Currently I am working as a Data Modeler with 4 years experience. I have a working knowledge of SQL, ETL. I have also learnt Python, Machine Learning. Now, I want to move towards a Data Analyst role. Will my work experience of Data Modeling, SQL and ETL be considered as a relevant experience for Data Analyst role?
Just signed an exit offer for a tech PM position — ~50% increase in TC. I’m looking forward to one of my last Monday’s in consulting. It’s bittersweet and very grateful for the experience I’ve had in consulting, but ready for the change!
Anyone struggling with summer camp hours? Not sure how I’m going to duck out and pick up my kid at 3pm over the next 6 weeks
Anyone else care more about getting into a top grad school (ivy- MIT-Stanford) more to please your grandparents and overseas relatives than the career benefits? I feel a weight has been lifted as the eldest sibling
What do you consider when starting over in a new school, new position and new state? What would help you make that final decision? Jersey to Florida, Bilingual Teacher to 1st Grade classroom teacher
