Typical midlevel signing bonus for secondary market? Is it typical to try and make you whole for a primary market bonus that you would leave? (If moving latter half of the year)

I was recruited and also applied to two jobs. I had two of the interviews this week and one that is tomorrow. I feel confident I will be offered the job by two companies. Would you take the best paying job, which is Blackstone as an Associate, and move 3 hours away with kids or stay put and make less with a Director title? The 3rd company likely won't pay what my minimum salary is.

I was handed a job change request by my COO yesterday that is giving me pause. The title is Information Technology, Communications & Facilities director. There main goal this year was to take some work off my plate and get me equal to my colleagues. I've just recently been hired as an assistant manager at a Canadian outlet store. It's a small company in comparison to others, but there are over 10 locations spanning western Canada and NW united states. I'm curious as to what others in a similar position are getting as salary. How can I get an associate position for the 2020-2021 class? I completed my JD at a top tier university outside the US, and I am admitted to the NY bar. Currently living and working in NY.

Question for the legal recruiters out there- is a signing bonus a reasonable request for a lateral move? HCOL but not major (i.e. not NYC). I would appreciate insight into how this request may be received.

A friend has been offered a role as an independent contractor commercial counsel for a pre IPO tech company in NYC (roughly 10-20 hrs/wk) with the possibility of becoming a full time offer.
