Why would they give lit sign on bonuses? Unless you have killer stats (HYS, feeder clerkship, great experience, etc.), there are plenty of litigators jumping for all these openings

That’s because the lit associate used a recruiter. The recruiter got that associate’s signing bonus (and more) that associate otherwise could’ve been entitled to 🤣
No big law lit job openings in Houston. So when there is an opening they have plenty of candidates. No need to give signing bonuses.
