I'm the hiring mgr for designers in my org. I recently discovered pay band information given to me by the HR generalist I'm working with on hiring was outdated and updated bands had been released over the summer (prior to my hire date). Hi Fishes,Need a suggestion.I am working in TCS as a project lead and currently serving notice period.I streamlined this project by working 14-16 hrs on daily basis.Initially I was assigned a fresher to groom and get project ready and also a 4-5 yrs experienced girl was hired. This girl never did work properly took lots of leaves and never completed work. Me and my manager had meetings with her but she only said she is weak in skillsets and not feeling confident.

Here is my issue. I left my firm this summer for an opportunity I should have known was to good to be true. I realized it wasn’t what I was led to believe. Was able to return to my old firm. The return was “a favor”. But includes conditions. I am not happy, and need a change and honestly more money now rather than in 6-8 months. I was offered a new job in Internal Audit/ Consulting role at my current employer. I definitely feel like the shipyard is low balling our salaries in Newport News. I am an Electrical Engineer with 9 years of experience, plus 3 years as a electrical technician at Dominion Power and only making $81,000/ year. Pretty low right? I just want to know what exactly am I worth when an offer is on the table. I&C experience, ship power experience, high voltage experience, etc.

Received a job offer via video call. The hiring manager was thoroughly providing pertinent information and everything was going well. Then as she said, “…with a starting salary of…” the connection cut out. 🤣 Came back on as she was explaining the time period for bonuses.
Don’t worry, I explained what happened and got the numbers. But damn, does the universe have a sense of humor sometimes.
