I’m a fourth-year associate who just got an offer to go in house. My experience is in litigation but I’d be working on more corporate matters, which scares me. But I hate billables and firm culture and the in-house company is a huge company where you can make moves in once you’re there.

My salary would be the same but I’d get better benefits and bonus opportunities in house. Plus I’m a mom and will have on-site childcare. Should I be scared that switching from litigation will be boring?

Walmart is paying a bit more, but they are building their first in house team for my stream and everything is in planning phase only, till now Accenture is giving services to them which is now handed over to walmart's in house team.

How many of you have paid maternity leave at your firm? I’m at a firm that gives male attorneys 12 weeks paid paternity leave but gives full time staff nothing. It’s infuriating to know that I could have a baby the same time one of my male associates has one, and he can take off for 12 weeks , fully paid, while I (the one who just pushed out the baby!) get nothing. They did tell me I could use my vacation time (thanks so much!).

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I believe improving one’s sales conversion rate is something everyone want to improve but no one wants to admit they would like to work it. Funny how lawyers will spend thousands on seminars to improve trial skills. But this topic is not discussed in our profession. I have read books in sales. But am unable to find any for lawyers. My RSUs vested on 11/20/21 which is a Saturday. The sale of shares for tax withholding by eTrade didn't happen until 11/24/21.
Should the fair market value upon which these RSUs are valued for tax purposes be on Friday 11/19/21, i.e. prior to the vest date of 11/20/21 ($88.75/share) or the Monday 11/22/21 ($83.20/share)?

I ask because eTrade has withheld tax based on the 11/19/21 price of $88.75 vs. what I would have expected/wanted (haha) of the price on 11/22/21 of $83.20.

Is there a trading platform that automatically notifies you if there is a large percentage increase or decrease in a stock’s price when it’s on your watchlist? Robinhood has this, but I want to get away from Robinhood. I know other platforms like Merrill require you to manually request alerts for changes like this.
