It’s got about as much scientific legitimacy as any other strategy. There is a reasonable argument even if you (and I) disagree. For example: different countries approve different drugs; the US medical establishment holds a view on circumcision different from that of every other developed country. We will find out in 6 months who was right. But as of now, we do not know enough to know what will happen.

US is doing the same thing.

US is going crazy. UK is keep calm, carry on, and stay at home if you have a fever!

Have you ever negotiated a severance? Company ended my employment and wants me to sign a mutual non-disparagement, waive suing them, etc. but they didn't offer me any money. They are fully in the wrong, it's a disability related issue. My options are 1. Sign 2. Refuse to sign 3. Try to negotiate. 4. Sue them (contingent on attorney taking the case). I'd prefer to negotiate, but not sure that's realistic.

I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide. All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off. How should I approach her in the upcoming year?

Being a fat person is f*cking exhausting. I'm on the lower end of the spectrum and it still sucks immensely. It's one of the only completely acceptable biases and honestly, it's painful. I see comments like these and I feel like I'm back in elementary school, when I wasn't even that big. I was just a sad kid with a tough home life who had a tummy. And the bullying I received caused me to turn to food to deal with my traumas at home and at school. I hope the world will be better to my children.
