Cool man, I'm sure your kids woulda been real proud of the awesome answer you must have given.

Yea K1; it's so cool to put a guy in their place who drives around a-holes all day and makes a fraction of what you do for making harmless small talk.

like

@D1 and @D2 why you gotta hate... this is a common assumption (of women)... that if they do basically ANYTHING for work, they must not have kids.

Recommendation for fishbowl: is there a way to systematically cut down on spam threads like this? Maybe a downvote feature that factors in your total downvotes when someone posts a new thread? Could help bring more meaningful content people care about faster outside of the "Top" section

I'm sure OP is a woman, and her point is that the driver would have never said this to a guy that travels.

like

I have no idea where this assumption that if a woman works at all then she must not have kids comes from.....

like

@K2 no one did, @D2 said OP was a man, so I was pointing out how common this is for women to experience. I also wasn't encouraging @OP'a choice of reaction either.

I hope you very loudly talked to your children on speaker on your iPad for the duration of the ride to further assert what a special blessing your children are.

@k1 who said OP was a woman

Moved back to the city post-COVID. My friends have become hermits and don’t really want to do anything. Any ideas on ways to cultivate a social life here without friends who are excited to do so as well?

I am in the customer service and sales side of travel insurance, and I am looking for a new job, possibly in another field. A much larger company purchased us 2 years ago, and over the last 6 months I have lost 2 designations, one as an advocate, which was my most rewarding. I was told that it had nothing to do with my performance. Any suggestions on how to obtain a position in another area? Such as going from strictly customer service and sales to advocate and claims? Thanks

So peeps, office opening up.

What's your plans on moving to Mumbai? Knowing apartment hunting can be a real bitch, some are planning to go back to hometown in the WFH week. i.e work at office at designated week and live in temporary accommodation, and then travel back.

I’m interviewing and have decided to own being a mom and the career choices I made along that journey. It’s really a powerful experience to just bring myself to these meetings. Wanted to share in case a) there are any of you out there feeling like it’s not an option b) it backfires spectacularly and I end up working at Homegoods this winter.

My husband yells at me in front of my 2 years old, even when he is scared. He needs to express his anger out before he can shut down. I am planning to leave him but I am hesitant because I am afraid this would negatively impact my son more, not having a father figure around much.... not the first time, my husband promises multiple time that at least he would control his anger in front of kid but never Lee up the promise...sometimes he would even throw stuff (not at me and my child)...

Do you typically share your salary or salary expectations with recruiters on the first interview? I’ve had instances where the interviewer flat out tell me the range of salary band via email even prior to initial interview. I think this is a great way to set expectations from the get go and will save both parties time - but some companies like to play the “game” and get you to share numbers first, which I find very annoying. What have your experiences been with salary expectations?
