McKinsey & Company McKinsey & Company been working here one year and received pretty positive feedback. Given the expectation for people of my tenure to transition to EM in a year or so, I can’t see myself staying due to the WLB as an EM. I’m 35 and have 2 young kids. Can it even be realistically done? Would love to stay but I don’t see a balance which would keep my family happy. What options do I have from there?

Not at all, tons of people do.
I got a Tumi backpack a couple of months ago and it is giving me life.
One of EY's bag options is a backpack. Lots of women use them, including myself. All black and professional back pack.
Take care of yourself OP. If a purse is killing you get a backpack. My boss has a computer bag that also has backpack straps if you want to please everyone.
Good grief, consultants are so superficial! Use whatever kind of bag that works for you in order to get your job done...Dedicate your time to delivering results for your clients and less time worrying about what you put your laptop in and chances are you will be just fine 🙄
We have a backpack thread here every day... Many people (me included) think it's an absolute nono. Apparently there are still folks who do it and live happy lives.
I'm on #teambackpack all the way
SM (male) and SC (female) uses a black leather backpacks. tumi.
I can't take anyone wearing a suit with a backpack seriously. Business casual still isn't advisable but isn't as bad.
@OP Tumi. I spent a mini-fortune but was worth it. Very durable and no back pains
I have one! Nice black leather
Totally fine
I do it every day like a mf boss. Briggs and Riley.
@E1 Ughhhhh dammit. This is what I was afraid of
👋
A backpack is for 12 year olds, get a nice suitcase and come to work with some dignity. It's not like you are hiking up Kilimanjaro and need a backpack to stay alive
I think backpacks are the best. Carrying two laptops in a shoulder bag is the worst! Get a professional looking one and own it.
Who cares?
Amen KPMG 2. Can I wear red lipstick, can I use a backpack? Do I have to wear a bra? Some of these questions ...
I have two laptops so using a backpack helps. Mine is a nylon Tumi that still looks lady-like and is convertible. I can easily hide the straps and use the leather handles and carry it like a purse for days that I feel I need to look more professional going into a meeting.
