Tough to see this chip being cast. Hurts mostly w-2 earners from middle to upper middle class. Political suicide. Reverses decades of fiscal policy initiatives designed to shift retirement burden from the state and companies ( social security and defined benefits ) to individual (defined contribution ). Many from both parties are against it.

Ha. The title is misleading. There's talk of capping pre-tax 401k contributions at that level. You'd just have to do more Roth.

I recently joined LTI. I declared previous employer income in form C. Ideally this should not be calculated while deducting tax because my previous employer has already done it but LTI has deducted tax from my salary for previous employer income too.
