Under new DOT guidance, you can get a refund for canceled flights EVEN IF you already accepted a voucher. Just successfully submited to AA. Link in comments. Get that coin back y'all!

If they cancel only right?

Yes, flight has to be canceled. My flight was canceled and there was no word from AA and nothing on the website. And yet when I called they knew exactly what I was talking about and sent me right to a refund request website.

I’ve never heard of not getting a refund when a flight was canceled. That’s a thing?

International flights too?

It doesn't specify domestic vs. international. But I would imagine yes as long as it's an American airline.

Wait so you are saying you accepted a voucher AND you’re taking a full refund? If this is the case, that feels really wrong especially when airlines are literally laying people off and struggling to survive.

EY2 why do you say that? Many people are losing their jobs or getting furloughed. It’s cruel to NOT feel bad, but you do you!

DOT coming in clutch.

Couple of dumb questions: 1. On a round trip, do they have to cancel both legs for you to be eligible? 2. Do you have to call the airline to get the link to request a refund?

Thanks, you rock!

Would this work if tickets are purchased through a third party like Priceline or orbitz?

Doubtful but it's always worth a try!

Anybody who lives in one state, but whose home office or major client is in another state? How does that work for tax purposes? As far as my weekly check goes, would state and local taxes go to my home state or the state where my main client is?

I’m sure this is a dumb question - but is there really a difference between being laid off and being fired? They’d never lay off the best people at the job - so really you’re just okay enough CONT.

Any insight on getting MBA from mendoza as far as prospects for transitioning into a post-mba strategy consulting role? It’s ranked outside the top 15 but from research seems like it still sends plenty of grads to top consulting firms (not MBB)
