Unemployment decreased due to people coming back from being furloughed. This is not a great indicator the economy is coming back. The rate of Permanent job losers are still increasing.

I make 30/hr right now in tech pmo .. Should I quit to make 57/hr doing more or less the same work but on w2 for some indian firm with no incl benefits.. I'm married and do need benefits in some way

Are there any firms out there that specialize in media consulting ie music, movies, sports and the like?

A friend of a close friend is going into consulting asked me what she should do to prepare herself for the job during her senior year. I've been asked this a few times before and basically tell them to goof off and enjoy college, but with online classes that's less of an option. I told her to read the WSJ frequently and get any non career aspects of her life in order so she doesn't have to worry about them, any other importance advice I'm missing?

My SO occasionally likes to pick up used items from garage sales or thrift shops. It bothers me a lot. I guess our upbringing was very different. How do I bring this up without sounding like an a-hole? Anyone experience this?

Supply chain and “labor shortages” continue to be at the center of economic news. I believe this is really a tug of war between labor and owner to means of production. Labor finally having been squeezed to the point of apathy. Have any of you found your clients dealing with these issues? Is increasing wages even part of the conversation?

I currently have two separate devices and phone numbers for work and personal stuff. Thinking of porting the personal number to Google Voice and installing Google Voice on work phone so I only have to carry one device and don't have to pay for personal number, while having distinct personal and work numbers. Don't want to give up my personal number completely hence porting. Anyone done that? Pros and cons? Any other suggestions?

I recently called a team meeting to level set expectations with team dynamics. A colleague had been bad mouthing their direct coworker to other people at the hospital. When confronted by the hurt they caused their colleague during the meeting, the one badmouthing denied it; later cried and felt attacked; and that that “wasnt her” even though it was. Advice on how to handle someone not taking accountability and deflecting in a dramatic way?
