Emirates, Singapore, Thai, Qatar..... not really domestic US!
Honestly, the US domestic market is all as bad as each other. Delta possibly is a little better - but SFO, you're outta luck really.
Thanks BCG1. You sound like you work for united
Don't blame others for your mistakes. You sound like you are a delicate flower.
Delta
I've always very clearly been told where I'll get my bag, gate side or final destination. Little green tag vs big white barcode tag, not hard to tell the difference, especially if you're GS with all that flying. I'm callin BS.
@OP: sorry to break it to ya..just cause u didn't verify and check your stuff..you can't blame UA AND expect to get taken care of due to your special status! I am 1K and I love UA service, always kind people. You need to accept your mistake, live and learn from it. Would points have made you feel better? That doesnt solve the problem you were/are having! Stop complaining and understand your mistake. You must be an Partner/MD/ or SR manager--majority of you guys never accept it when you are wrong! I know it must hurt your ego and pride, but, this is life. get over your own mistakes and stop blaming others. I see higher ups do this all the time and just for reference I am in Management as well. People always treat others with disrespect especially when proven wrong and instead of learning from their mistakes..u just complain and demand free shit! Sadly this is the world we live in....
I had a cross country flight that got into IAD at 6pm. I was supposed to go to a client dinner at 8:30. Tomorrow I have an 8am flight to ATL. I reluctantly gate checked my bag and without asking they sent my bag through to ATL. When I went to see what happened to my bag I get the same answer I always get from United. They blame me for not proactively asking where my bag was going. Global services acts like they can't do anything either. No offer of points, empathy, anything. Told them I'd have to go out and buy clothes and they just say sorry I should have asked where my bag was going.
WOW. I've never had a gate checked bag go through anywhere. Was it one of those green tags?
Well obviously. I love flying Singapore when I can but I do a significant amount of domestic travel as well. Home airport is SFO.
Can I ask what happened?
AA has plenty of issues, but I've found their customer service to be decent, at least. What did United do?
Delta has issues too. Very inconsistent service
You should have looked at the bag tag
I sympathize with the global services. It's customer service. Not self service.
If I have two separate tickets that were booked at different times and are16 hours apart why would I even think that my bag would go to the second flight destination. That makes no logical sense.
Southwest still understands customer service
I'm with OP. The gate agent should have stated the final destination of the bag.
