Hi Fishes! I hope y’all are having a great weekend. I did my undergraduate with Rotman, 2 YOE in Commercial/Corporate Banking after graduation, and working in Capital Market Team in B4 Consulting as an Experienced Associate. Now in order to break into MBB, I hope to plan ahead and I am working on case interviews. Meanwhile would really hope to get some guidance and suggestions here from current MBBers, or anyone who went from B4 to MBB, anyone is willing to have a ☕️ chat with me? TIA!!!
Meanwhile no company or school name provided by OP lol
😂
I don’t think Wharton grads or Bain employees are too concerned with how they’re perceived tbh

I see what you mean when you said unpopular opinion

If you’re so hung up on the prestige of HS vs W and the prestige of MB vs B.... I really hope you find happiness one day
I know multiple people who’ve chosen Bain over McKinsey or BCG so not only is your opinion unpopular, it’s wrong (idk much about Wharton / HBS / Stanford but I imagine it’s similar)
Bain is my dream company - would choose it over Mck or BCG tbh
Bain is way closer to M and B than Wharton is to H and S. A very convincing argument can be made for Bain over BCG (and even over McK for certain cases like PE exit opps). On the other hand, you would almost never pick Wharton over HBS or GSB. I’m sure the cross-offer rates reflect this
The difference between HS and W and MB and B is much less than the difference between W and B and number 4 though. It still makes sense as a tier to me though with the important caveat that W and B are a clear number 3.
But fundamentally goes going to bain change your exit ops vs. BCG or M? At least in my network, there hasn’t been so not sure why Bain is regarded as lesser
Tbh I wish I accepted my Bain offer instead

Who cares
At least you know it is unpopular
I do believe that H/S are in a tier of their own. The Bain take is just wrong.
Liking bc it is an unpopular opinion
You know someone goes to W if they say HSW. Otherwise they’d say H/S. Likewise, anyone who says “top 4 MBA” goes to Booth
