If you have Twitter, tweet at Tumi that you're so unhappy with their quality and service that you're considering just buying a Briggs and be done with it (tag Briggs & Reilly). They will escalate really quickly

Get a deal to get your current one fixed plus 50% on new one since you so t want to use a loaner. Use new one for your trip and then sell it off for a profit once you get your old one back.

Called Tumi this morning. Told them I need a free new suitcase.
