Nope but that might be because I haven't left my house.
Chicago - quieter overall but heard from my friends who live in bar areas that bars were packed due to St Patty’s day 😔
The only thing people are taking seriously is hoarding. Went to Target and Costco for a normal shopping trip, stores are wiped clean. Everyone is preparing for a lockdown.
I have noticed fewer cars in major shopping center parking lots in northern VA.
NYC is definitely quieter but not sure how much of that is the absence of European tourists.
A friend of mine who works in a B2B company in the hospitality industry says that NYC and SF restaurant booking are down 20-30%
DC- bars were packed, so no.
Yes, fewer people out in public, except at grocery stores.
Definitely in my county in Philadelphia
Long Island restaurants were packed last night (drove by/did NOT partake). People are not heeding the warnings...
NYC - definitely less people outside. Not quite "ghost town" yet but definitely more space to walk in Manhattan.
Also, restaurants operating at 50% capacity, but that's just due to laws. Ones I went to would had turn people down at the door :(
My last day at work in Rosslyn VA was Friday. Probably 30% of the normal density for that area. Both traffic and pedestrians.
DC- not really, went out all weekend
Why
Seattle is a ghost town. The streets are sparsely travelled at rush hour. You see few people on the street down town. Neighborhoods are a little more active still.
Lots of restaurants have shut their doors for the duration of the crisis.
Yes. Bay Area is much quieter and significantly reduced cars on the road and travelers on BART. Can’t speak for bars... I’m stay home and cancelled my spring break trip. Also, I have an Airbnb and my upcoming guests have all cancelled.
NYC, definitely a ghost town
