Hey everyone! Anybody working in AWS or have recently applied? I have an interview coming up for a Senior Client Lead Recruiter position. I’d like to get any insights on the position, interview process and the Total Compensation please? The levels online don’t seem to match, maybe that is not accurate for Canada? The recruiter mentioned somewhere around 80k TC already and it seems kind of low?
I have awesome creative work from a client that has fallen into scandal. Specifically, they were a recently acquired beverage company who’s CEO was in a sexual scandal and then the company went into layoffs and rushed get more investor money to try to salvage the business. Needless to say, it didn’t work but the brand got sold to some super conglomerate. All this to say, do I put the good work in my portfolio? Do I keep it password protected? What would you do?
What qualification do you need to be a product manager? To me it needs a lot of project management skills...what other skills do you need (E.g. technical)
Does anyone work for McKinsey within their Digital Arm as an architect? I was told this would be on the expert path. Can anyone tell me how the project dynamics would differ? Another thread I read mentioned that experts are utilized across multiple projects. True?
I’m completely over client service. Save me!
Crossposting here in case anyone knows... I’m wrapping up a project and intend to leave the firm by the end of the month. With no other project on my schedule, will I be able to collect my bonus...
Major client found sig. errors in report. Manager blamed me for faulty work. Partner offered 1mo PIP or 2 mo severance. Have written proof work was manager’s, partner didn’t care. What would u do?
Do you prefer CDD work or traditional strategy work? Do you get to actually know your clients on a CDD project? Is CDD more interesting than traditional strategy work because of its fast project cycle?
Is it normal to be on bench for more than 3 months in infosys ?? When I check with manger he is telling no need to worry .. need update from senior infy folks ..
Currently on the bench and bored... any ladies in Chicago interested in hanging out? I've been told im an Edward Norton lookalike if that piques your interest.
Is going client/brand side as amazing as people say it is? The way that people describe in house production teams seems like it’s way too good to be true...
Does your firm call it a bench or beach? I know ACN calls it a bench and McK calls it a beach.
At a small firm, place went through layoffs a few months ago. Been on the bench for a Month. Just feel I’m waiting for the doom invite to drop into my cal now. Sigh.
Took PTO today so I can catch up on work. So I can actually do real work instead of sitting in useless client meetings for 10 hrs every day then having to pull a night shift to do the work 🤷🏻♀️
When the Partner who told you they would staff you on a project doesn’t reply to your emails…
An idea. Each of our firms have incredibly bright and talented people. Some are currently “on the bench” with idle time. So why not put these minds to use saving lives? Here’s the idea: Continued
Such low utilization at the firm I'm just over one calendar year now since start date. Is the bench at Deloitte for IM pretty big or am I the only one? About to get fired..
Client site has cheddar ruffles lying around and I'm tempted every time I walk past it 😓
Does anyone travel with a portable monitor? I hate working with one screen at client sites/hotels
What's the longest you've been on the bench?
Does anyone have any insight to the prospective salary of a senior marketing science analyst at PHD media? Gauging to see if it's worth staying after a promotion vs looking elsewhere.
Feeling conflicted about wanting to leave my current company of a year where I feel I’m underpaid (despite praise from managers), though I love my coworkers and (sometimes) the work/clients. I know I can make a lateral jump somewhere else to make more, and I don’t want to get left behind in this hot market. I would be really sad to leave my current role, but really want/need more money. Anyone else going through this?
What are things aside from the following to negotiate with job offers (salary, equity, signing bonus, relocation bonus, PTO, remote). Anything I’m missing?
@H1b 🐡: just heard that the current administration is making it harder to renew your h1b, which had always been relatively easy. Anyone going through the process and able to speak to this?
I just finished Shoe Dog. It was a great book about Phil Knight’s entrepreneurship journey, but came up short on Jordan influence and brand story. Does anyone know any books specifically about the Jordan brand?
What kind of businesses can you venture into if you are on an H1B? I want to open a Indian breakfast place and use my cooking skills. Consulting skill is fine for money, but not upto my taste.
Still in bed in the hotel and haven’t even started getting ready, because I know tonight is going to be a hella late night.... 😞
Is it worth taking a GCP TAM role as an L4 with 8 YOE. I made Manager at Deloitte last year and have worked in cloud consulting for the last 5 years, I had made it very clear to the recruiter that I’m looking for an L5 and even with interviews going really well they came back with you would be really strong at L4 so we recommend going into HC with that. Feeling very demotivated and frustrated tbh because after all the effort I’ll have to start where juniors with 4 YOE are staring at GCP Google
Is it just me or do I feel that brand-level consulting (e.g., product strategy) is more interesting, on balance, than management consulting? But it seems like the market rates for these kind of projects are lower than MC projects. Does MBB play in this product strategy space, or is it mostly other boutiques and ZS/LEK? Like is there a consistent competitor set we’re bidding against?
Manager 1. Transfer from audit into FDD (and have to do one more busy season in audit), or leave to a financial reporting job at a large public co for 40% raise?
What is the culture like at Bain & Company ? Is it generally supportive/collaborative or more of a competitive/cut-throat vibe? I realize it’s somewhat dependent on case team
How's Databricks as a company to work with (Work culture, career & company growth, compensation etc)?
How long did it take you/do you plan to pay off your student loans especially for a $200k MBA? Any tips on accelerating the process?
How much does a USI consulting Senior Con make in US on H1B ? Also if you can tell after expenses what are the average savings ??
Book recommendation - "Ride of a lifetime" by Robert Iger. Story of someone who started as a studio operator and went on to become the CEO of Walt Disney. Really relatable to most of us who are employees and not entrepreneurs. Books on Steve Jobs, Elon Musk are all good but I loved Robert's story more as I could relate and aspire. How he takes tough decisions, how he negotiated with Steve Jobs to acquire Pixar, his honesty, humility etc. are all something we can learn from. Go for it fishes 😄
Hey everyone, has anyone asked for educational reimbursement from their company? I want to enroll myself in Reforge membership and ask my new employer to pay for it. How did you bring this up?
Roth vs Traditional 401k . I have been maximizing only traditional 401k past 2 years and I’m in a 24% bracket. Can lowering a tax bracket like 12% tax range in future could be an option to effectively handle 401k withdrawals? Also, would like to know about withdraws if I move back to home country and hold 401k until 60 yrs of age. Trying to figure out if I need to switch to Roth 401k now. Thinking lower tax bracket in future could be working for <= 30k/yr with solid savings for atleast 2 years
