My CFA (NW mutual) is suggesting I put my capital in American funds. I pulled out of a 529A for my daughter that had a 5% front load. I’ve played a bit with robinhood, but I want to do some adult investing and I don’t have time for real estate management. 1) why does anyone bother with American funds with the absurd fees over vanguard 2) am I looking in the entirely wrong place? I want a good place to put my bonuses YoY and a small sum monthly. Goal is cash flow in 20 years.

If you have $15k and are fairly diversified where would you put your money? Debating between aggressive or moderate growth and want to research some good sectors or ETFs. Already hedging the 15k with some Ibonds.
